Ironwill: Just one or two? Screw that! After second comp I'm going to have one or two of the biggest bags I can find! And I'm not even going to feel the least bit guilty about it. :mrgreen:

Oscar: LOL! You crack me up!

Lesplease: So did you buy plain m&ms or peanut butter? I bet peanut butter would be good in cookies... I LOVE to bake also. Its one of most favorite things. The problem is that I also REALLY like to eat so I've had to put the whole baking hobby on hold until I get through these comps. Having to see/smell goodies is unnecessary torture that I really don't need right now. Although, I did bake boyfriend a German Chocolate cake for his birthday the other day. I wanted to sit down with the cake and a fork and eat it all. I refrained though. I hope your cookies turned out well.. i'm sure they did. That is really nice of you to mail them to all of your friends. Yes, after second comp you are more than welcome to shoot some way. :)

I decided to try to find some kind of comprimise with chocolate cravings without losing mind completely and going off and robbing a bakery. So, I bought a bag of dark chocolate kisses. I take one out of the bag (this is the important part...) CLOSE the bag up, return to cupboard (if I can do it, then anyone can!! :D ). Then I unwrap that little piece of heaven and pop it in mouth and let it just sit there and slowly melt - I try to savor every last little part of it - 'cause I'm only having the one. Doing that really seems to get me past the sugar (chocolate) craving. It is not that I want to eat ALOT of chocolate, I just need to have that little taste to squelch the craving. :D I don't have the guilt, and I satisfied the craving....works for me!!
It's kinda disturbing knowing how much having that little piece of chocolate makes me happy....it's like a little present I get to unwrap every day :D (I think I may need some counseling or something :roll: ) :lol:

Both of you women deserve a trophy for your self control. I'm more of an all or nothing kinda gal. I see no point in having 1 hersheys kiss if I can't have the whole bag. For me, having just one reminds me how yummy they are and make me want to have MORE! As for 3 M&Ms.... seriously I can't do that. I find that kind of self control honestly amazing.

M & M s are not much of a temptation to me. You need to upgrade your lust for a higher quality temptation.

OMG! I avoided this post for good reasons! I loooooove M & M's - now I'm going to have to go and forage into the bowels of freezer for that lonely bag I KNOW is in there somewhere :(

Like Lynne, I have Dark Choclate Kisses that I ceremoniously unwrap in emergencies!

point:

M & M's are out (so are Hershey's kisses,Tootsie Rolls and Friendly ice cream).

You abstain from sweets and eat a good diet, so when you "cheat" you should do so with quality goods.

Hagen Daz or Ben & Jerry's
Godiva Chocolates or http://money.cnn.com/2003/04/16/pf/savi ... /index.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not Hostess cupcakes or Twinkies, but Chocolate cheese cake from the Cheese Cake Factory.

If you are going to cheat, make it with something worthwhile.

Hmmm... I think that one depends on the person and what the person sees as a "quality goods" or what is worthwhile to cheat on. Some people might prefer cheese cake from the cheese cake factory... and others would happily turn that down in favor of a big fat twinkie or bag of peanut butter m&ms. I come from a very redneck family and a very small town (actually grew up about 10 minutes outside of a very small town) and have never been exposed to a lot of foods that others would see at "quality goods". I think the nearest cheese cake factory is a good 3-4 hours away from where I live and to me, a cheesecake made from a box purchased from the jello aisle of the local grocery store would be just as nice as something purchased a fancy restaurant. I think its a matter of personal preferance. :)

No, it is not. If you cheat on M & M's it is because we have failed to educate you on the pleasures of finer chocolates. It is not preference; it is education.

Beware an amiable gentleman, who is a purveyour of satanic pleasures. For he is indeed an accomplished trickster, who has lured many a slip of a thing, to her doom, in a black hole of Cocoa, lust and oral finery :P .

You fell foul of another type of amiable gentleman, that sells Canned Annelids. The trick there is, if you mistakenly purchase such a can but cannot return it, throw it away, never open it :wink:.
