Got a workout program, suggestions/comments plz

Post by Agully »

Ok, so i went to gym yesterday and one of their personal trainers assigned me a workout plan. I would like to know if it's good or can be improved adding/removing/changing certain things etc.I'm fairly new to bodybuilding and 5'5 125lbs.

1st Set(or cycle,whatever terminology)
Pull-ups: 15
Bench Press: 10 reps of 115lbs
Bicep Curls: 10 reps of 35lbs
Tricep Pressdowns: 10 reps of 30lbs
Dumbbell Shoulder press: 10 reps of 15lbs

2nd Set/Cycle
Pullups: 15
Bench Press: 10 reps of 95lbs
Bicep Curls: 10 reps of 30lbs
Tricep Pressdowns: 10 reps of 30lbs
Dumbbell Shoulder Press: 10 reps of 10 lbs.

3rd set/cycle
SAME AS 2ND

I was gonna do this Monday, wednesday, and friday and do lower body or abs on 3 of days off. Opinions? I will probably increase the weight on the Tricep pressdowns cus it feels a little light or just do the hammer push things instead.

Yes that is all he gave. of course i will be doing abs and lower body on the days off from upper body.

I plan on just doing this for a month until all the protein powder and supplements i ordered come in and I get accustomed to the gym. then I plan on switching to the Waterbury method which u suggested in another thread of mine.

Is the workout planhe gave me totally useless tho? or will i still see some improvements? It seems fairly intense while im doing it, and the day after shoulderswere pretty sore.

1 - you're only new and you're getting supplements...supplements asre exactly what they say they are, supplements...in your case though they aren't actually supplementing anything as you've only just started...i wouldn;t have you start them yet...you'll make the exact gains from a decent food plan so you may as well save them for when they will work best for you i.e. in 2 or 3 years when you're diet and training are perfect and you have no way else of improving them...what if you use them and they don;t work? then what do you do? steroids???

2 - any program done hard will get some results...a great program done very hard will get great results though

Oh ok. and what i meant by supplements was protein powder, amino acid powder, along with fish oil capsules and other vitamins.
