Aww yes is probably an off week, is your diet ok, vitamins, water intake ?..Honestly I give ppl with jobs & trying to train so much credit. Is not something Ive had to do yet, so to me it seems like it would be damn hard.If u continue to be tired, have ur blood checked, could be low iron, low immune functioning, which I have, u can cry in ur beer anytime around me missy, is all good & accepted :D

I'm not eating enough calories during the day, tend to overcompensate in the p.m. since by then I'm starving and incapable of making sound choices. The wood paneling looks pretty tasty by then , ya know? :) I don't take any vitamins or supplements (all of that just confuses me). I drink on average about 4 bottles of water a day. I ran out of protein powder mid week. :(
son started back to school on Monday, so this week has been stressful with getting back in the routine. He is going to a new school, so I have had to deal with insane traffic and a longer commute ( work is 15 miles away). I have nearly had "road rage" several times in the past few days dealing with rude mini-van moms driving like it is the Indy 500!

Lynne - with what you do you qualify for "SuperWoman of the Year" !! Not just your exercise program but your sound and positive advice and encouragement you give....Give yourself a break once in awhile - sometimes you're just damn tired - and it's ok :) By any chance are you a Virgo?

LOL! thanks Lu :) I'm a Taurus, the bull. Stubborn and strong willed (at least that what husband says  )

Got out the door this a.m. for a quick run. Felt good!, nice to see the sun coming up :) Ran about 2.5 miles, the temp was in the low 70's but still humid. Had some rolling hills (really need to do some hill work! ). I found a great slope to run hill sprints on in a Dollar store parking lot...it slopes uphill away from the store..just have to make sure I run before opening hours, so I don't get tackled by the parking lot security police seeing me sprinting away from the store and mistaking me for a shoplifter! "Really officer, I'm doing hill sprints!" "Yeah, right lady, sure ya are...hands behind your back please".
Have a great day everyone!

Ha - I'm so excited now that I know how to use quotes!

Me too - I'm going to start working out 3 times a week, twice a day. Don't panic Swanso - I'm not going to work too hard without results! Since I'm helping friend Jean I'll need to get normal workout and then one with her. Plus I think I need to work harder and eat smarter to get rid of some of these extra pounds I can't seem to get rid of :( The time I've taken off has taken a toll on me.

I see those planks Lynne - I keep forgetting them, thanks for the reminder!

For your HIIT - when you say 6 cycles, do you mean 6 intervals at a higher mph? Do you go into the high intensity interval every other minute? For how long? I do 3.4 mph for 3-4 minutes then every other minute go into 6.8 mph but for only 30 secs. Definitely not strength but at least I'm able to do them again :) Maybe you shouldn't tell me, I'll be jealous!!

One cycle example: 4.0 mph for 2 minutes then 7.5 mph for 1 minute
I did that 6 times. It was hard to make myself stay at 4.0 for the entire 2 minutes. I was ready to go again after about 1 minute! I will try switching it to 1 minute next time. :) And increase the amount of cycles to 8. Being a "runner" already, this workout seemed too easy, I could have definitely done more than 6 cycles, but time was an issue. :( Occasionally I reverse it and do the slow part for 1 minute and the faster part for 2 minutes - 4 cycles. So I will just have to adjust it as I do it more and see what combo works best for me :D

7.5 mph is an 8 minute mile pace. That is what I used to average in a 5K (3.1 mile) race. Having trained for so many years at that pace and below, I feel really good running at that speed and hope in the near future to be able to sustain it (or close to it) for 3 miles & longer. :D I'd like to run some 5K races in December (shooting for a 26:00 minute or under time), then start increasing the distance after the new year to prepare for the illusive marathon in April! (but not at that pace!!! I don't care what pace will be, just want to cross that finish line!! :D )

Thank Lu! :D

todays workout:

3 miles treadmill:

1mile @ 9:19
2mile @ 17:51
3rd mile @ 26:15 :D

I was kinda bummed when I first saw the 26:15 because I thought I still had another quarter mile to go and I was hoping to finish in the 26 minute range, I ran for almost another minute before I looked at mileage and saw that I had already passed the 3 mile mark!!! Now THAT'S what I call being in the zone!!!! Woo Hoo!

2x25 crunches
2x25 bicycle crunches

2x45 sec. left plank
2x45 sec. right plank

1x20 Wide Incline Pushup
1x20 Facepull - 18lb weight
1x20 Pike Pushup
1x20 Decline Pushup

Good workout...feel invincible right now!!! :D :D
