need advice on losing weight
I currently have no diet and I don't exercise. I am 15, . I weigh 200 pounds and I'm about 5'10. I feel tired all day. I am wondering if anyone could recommend me good foods to eat that will help me lose weight and have more energy during the day. also simple exercises that I can do, maybe building up into bigger or longer ones. I am not looking for anything crazy, I just want to slim down a little bit. and of course feel better. if anyone wants to give more info then they do here, please email me at [email protected] I will take any advice. If you want to recommend supplements or anything. OR if you need anymore info about me, just ask
well since its the summer, I dont really have any set times. I basically eat junk all day. but when I do have a normal schedule, I usually skip breakfast. then at lunch ill have whatever they serve at school. around 12. then around 5 or 6 i have dinner. then a little later i usually have a little something else. mind you i take adderall for ADHD and it completely kills appetite so half the time I dont even eat lunch
What options do you have at school, if any? And what are you eating for dinner and afterwards?
You don't exercise, but do you like skating or riding your bike? What do you typically do during the day or after school? I know I spent a lot of time playing video games during high school, and while that's enjoyable I wasn't moving at all. If you're completely inactive, you can start by jogging or walking around your block for twenty minutes as often as you can. Try simple things at first, like walking to the grocery store to buy eggs and whole wheat bread so you can start eating breakfast

On wednesdays they have spicy chicken. On other days they usually have chicken patties or pizza. and whatever the main meal is, but I usually dont like that. and for dinner, pretty much something out of a package. like flavored rice, mac n cheese, pizza, perogies, spaghettios. lots of junk. i get the obvious things like, stop eating junk, snacks and soda. and eat a few small meals a day
I'm assuming all of the chicken options they give you are fried. Could you pack yourself a lunch? And will you make yourself dinner, not out of a package?
Here are some simple things to start with:
1. Carry a bottle of water with you and make sure to drink throughout the day.
2. Start with eating breakfast before you go to school and cutting out the after-dinner snack
3. Try not to skip lunch even if you have no appetite. Get something small in at least.
4. Go for a walk after you eat for 20-30 minutes if you can
Start by adjusting your lifestyle, don't just expect yourself to be another person overnight. That always seems to backfire.
Hope this helps!

thank you, and yes they are all fried. I could pack myself a lunch. And yeah I will make myself dinner that isnt out of a package. I have before, so that will be fine with me. school does have water fountains and I usually get some between every class.
and yeah I know I wont be another person overnight lol thanks

What kind of foods do you like?
For me, I eat a lot of egg whites (mostly because I don't like egg yolk) and grilled chicken, but of course there are a ton more options for protein. Then I typically add that to brown rice, or throw it in a whole wheat tortilla, or you can do whole wheat bread. Then tons of veggies. Also, with school it makes it easy to make everything a night or two before and package everything in tupperware. If you can't get to a microwave during school though, then a sandwich or salad might be better.

Re: need advice on losing weight
Here is an easy 6 things to start on...
1. 30 minute brisk walk every day
2. 8 glasses of cold water every day (that's about 1 every 2 hours, and by having that glass of water just before you eat will help you feel full faster and therefore eat less at each meal)
3. breakfast...(break your fast...you haven't eaten all nite) 1/2 cup oatmeal with 1 teaspoon brown sugar and a handfull of raisons, 1 yogurt cup with fruit (low or no-fat), 1 hard boiled egg. If this isn't enough then add a piece of fruit like an apple or banana or orange.
4. take a daily vitamin.
5. Sleep for 8 hours a night.
6. Eat whole grain breads instead of white bread because they are more nutricious and make you feel fuller for longer (less snacking that way)
It takes 3 months of everyday routine to make something a habit. Work at this and you can do it. By changing, adding, or deleting things in small stages you are more apt to keep them the way you want them. Keep a jouranal of things you try and do and how you measure up each week/month/year as you go.
cheers
