going out of town good ideas on what to eat

Post by jamie_1978 »

Hey, I am going out of town for work this coming week and will be in the middle of Missouri and though the hotel has a gym I am looking for ideas on what I can eat while I am there. I do not have the time to take own food other then protein I am taking with me. If there is a Subway there then I should be o.k., but if not I need ideas so if anyone can help me out that would be great.

It is always hard to eat healthy when you are out of your normal routine. Just stay away from "fast food", fried anything or quick "easy to eat" processed foods. Stick to grilled, or broiled chicken or lean cuts of beef. Most restaurants offer a grilled chicken dinner or salad. If ordering a salad ask for the dressing on the side. If your hotel room has a small fridge try to keep some raw veggies with dip to snack on, or some yogurt. Also, so many restaurant meals are so huge they can easily be divided into two meals, get a "to go" box and bring it back to the hotel with you to keep in the fridge to save for another meal. Just do the best you can, don't beat yourself up if you aren't able to eat as healthy as you would like, and remember to take advantage of that gym at your hotel!
have a safe trip!
