Found an online journal

Post by wevie »

I ran across this site today. I found it from another message board. I think I am gonna try to use it. It tracks everything for you. Food, workouts, calories and all that stuff. Looks like it may take a lot of the work out of a journal.

It's free but they have a premium option you can pay for also.

Does anyone use this site or one like it? If anyone knows of a better one, I would like to check it out.

It's Fitday.com

PS I'm not being a spammer. I have nothing to do with the site. I simply ran across it as I have been looking for something like it.

A better one would be FitTracker! You can enter in your daily food intake, document your workout progress store your body measurements, weight loss and more. Also Shapefit has a page full of great recipes- I know you've been looking for something like that as well.

Fitday to me is a bit innacurate.

I've seen evidence of this before, to the point where I suspect someone screwwed up the software, particularly where the carbs per gram ratio was put in.

I have used fitday in the past, and I am now using sparkpeople. They are both okay. I came across inaccuracies in both as far as calorie counting. Nothing major. Fitday has some cool tools to use. I found Spark, was easier to keep track of food. Sparkpeople has other people support but those people tend to still be on the main-stream low fat low calorie type diet advise, and if you say anything different to them they treat you like a nazi. So stay away from the message boards, and you have to tweak the macronutrient to suit your needs. a good site for that is http://www.freedieting.com/tools/nutrie ... ulator.htm

I keep a small notepad with me so I can write down the days food. Sometimes if I spend the day out, I can't get to the computer, so when I finally do, I wont forget something.

I have also used Fit Day in the past. It was okay, but I as I have gotten used to the Diet Tracker here I have found that I like it better. I like how it breaks down the calorie/fat/carb ratios so you know what you need to have more of or less of in a day. I always fall short on the protein part.
I keep a small notepad with me as well :D You should see the funny looks I get from husband when he watches me holding up cans or packages of food and scribbling down Calories, Fat, Carbs, Protein, Sugar and all on everything I eat . He thinks I am crazy and a little obsessed, but has wisely learned to keep his thoughts to himself 8)
I was at Subway for lunch today and was holding up the line because i was trying to read the Calorie and fat info for sub so I could log it in later!! :D :D
