I was wondering if it is bad for body to work out 7 times a week.
For the summer I've been going to the gym for intense workout for about 2 hours everyday.
Monday: Chest and Tris
Tuesday: Bicep and Back
Wednesday: Shoulders/ Traps
Thursday: Legs/ 20-30 min Cardio
Friday: Chest and Tris
Saturday: Bicep and Back
Sunday: Shoulders/ Traps
Monday: Legs/ Cardio
and I just keep rotating everday. I usually play basketball for 2 hours after the gym on Wed and sometimes Thursday.
I have been doing this for about 4 weeks so far so I was wondering whether workout program will be bad for body. I stopped taking whey protein b/c it taste bad so I try to eat meat and fish once a day but I just eat whatever ex. pizza, pasta, ice cream, sandwich...
Im trying to be about 165-170 lbs and get muscular.
Im 5' 8" and i change from 155- 158 lbs. everytime i weigh myself so idk exact weight. Im trying to reach goal by the end of the year.
Is working out 7 times a week bad for body?

Thats very true. Resting is very important in gaining muscle.Lesplease wrote:Make sure you get plenty of rest. You can burn out easily. If you don't have the proper recovery time you won't be getting any results.
Though, If you are cycling work outs and only doing the 7 day work out for a couple of weeks it could give your body a little shock to help it along.
yea i mean today at the gym friend did tell me that i got bigger since i started working out in the beginning of the summer so im guessing workout program works but im worried if itll have a negative effect on body if i keep doing it so im just wondering. ive heard things like you may start to lose muscle if you dont rest but i dont think its happening to me so far so yea any thoughts?
7 sessions plus another 7 basketball sessions is ridiculous...if you wanna put on wt you have to "limit" activity or there are no cal's for growth and if your not gonna eat properly and have a protein shake after wt workouts then forget about it
train with wts 2/week x full body routines and basketball
the more basketball you're gonna play the nless wts you'll be able to do

Try 5 days a week
7 days is a lot. You could do it, but I wouldn't recommend it. If you're trying to build muscle mass, then I definitely wouldn't recommend it.
Train each muscle group only once per week (or perhaps a better way to put it is, work each muscle group until you won't be able to train it more than once a week), and do one high intensity cardio session one day a week, and low intensity cardio sessions 3 days a week.
Give yourself at least 2 days to rest. Your body deserves it.
Check out fitness and nutrition blog http://fitnessnutritioneducation.blogspot.com. I'm sure that you'll find some useful information there.
Good luck!
