This is just for fun... would you like to share an interesting/funny story that describes how you've used your strength/endurance/agility in a real life situation. We all talk about how much we work out at the gym and how much we can lift and stuff... but this is all under a safe and restricted environment. So time to show off a little, all in fun of course.
This idea came to me when Packard told me a story about how he and a couple of his gym buddies deadlifted a car from a handicapped parking spot.
I don't have a super cool story but just something that I have to do for work. I've been doing roofing for the past year or so and thanks to hard work at the gym I'm able to carry bundles of shingles and sheets of plywood up a 30 foot ladder without feeling like I'm going to die. This has definately earned me a lot of respect with the men.
i've started playing footy again (the aussie kind - REAL football) and simply knowing that i am stronger then most on the field (even at 75kgs and 5'6") i can get underestimated somewhat with tackling and phyiscal pressure
I was at work the other day at the back dock. There was a piece of heavy machinery delivered and needed to be lifted and carried in. boss took one look at it, looked around (I was standing no more than 5 feet away) and he proceeded to go and get the only other in the building to help him lift this thing. I kept mouth shut and had to really squish the urge to say something as I watched these two grown men grunt and groan and strain to lift the part into the shop. I wanted to just shove both of them (or at least one of them, I'm not THAT strong!) out of the way and just take care of it!!! But, in their defense.... boss didn't ask me to help (he knows I am fit and strong and often comments on it) because he is a gentleman who believes in treating ladies like ladies and wouldn't think of asking a lady to do a "mans" job. I just found it funny and ironic that they were willing to get a hernia rather than ask me for help!
Well I guess in this particular situation I didn't actually get to DO anything but just KNOWING I could was pretty satisfying!
I compete in MMA and grappling so I use gains in the gym every time I step into the cage/ring or onto the mat. For example just last week I submitted a guy with a Kimura from in his half guard, which is hard to do. But I was so much stronger then him and was able to pin him to the ground and stabilize him there, which made the technique a lot easier to pull off.
Thats really good for a lifting day. 20 is max on a non lifting day when me and some guys at work are just making bets on who can do more. so trust me 20 is not the amount i do on any regular basis.
I was in a round of ju-jitsu once against this really fit guy. About three inches taller than me, very strong. He got me down, then I reversed him and wound up giving him the rear naked choke and he submitted. So we started again and I got him into and arm lock, another submission. Sometimes the men, especially the guys who have been there a while will tone it down so people can learn. I thought that was the case, he let me win. Later, after the next class I was complaining that we needed more women in class so I could beat someone up for real, when that guy and 4 others were like "No way!" That guy I was wrestling said he wasn't faking anything and the other guys said that sometimes they wish to not fight me because I am too hard to fight.
Once I fought a man and when the whistle blew, we lock arms together and we each tried to spin to get the other down. That is when I held on real hard, sat back and flipped him over head, slamming him into the mat. The instructor was screaming and cheering for me. It was pretty cool.

I'll have to give it a think.
I am really jealous! That is so awesome! Touching a shark and pissing it off, way cool!
Once I planned a trip to wonderland(theme park) like 4 months ahead of time. By the time the day actually came up I had completly forgotten about it until friend phoned me the day before. Because of this I had no money to bus there. But I made promises and had to attend. So I ended up biking. Leaving at 5am I got there around noon. Thats like 118 km. Not the fastest but still. And the bike I had to use had tires that looked like half moons.
