I Need Help Losing Weight

Post by saothoi »

I'm 4'11 and weigh about 143 lbs. I gained a lot of weight over the past months from drinking beers and being on the depo vera shot lol. Anyways, I really really want to lose 30 lbs... arms have gotten big! I look like a sumo wrestler! thighs are getting bigger and stomach is bulging out.... Please help! What's the best diet for me? :?

To be honest I eat a lot of Laotion food.... Sticky rice, Jasmine rice, and vermicelli noodles. Similar to Vietnamese food. I know its not good and I'm trying to eat a small portion of it. I eat breakfast at 9am, lunch at 12pm and dinner late, like about 9. I work from 10:30am to 7pm and I get home at 8pm. I have to cook for the kids. lol And I workout during lunch time which is about 3pm.

The key thing is to watch what you eat… It’s good to watch how much you eat and portion yourself… But it’s like… instead of a whole box of pizza you’re only gonna have 1 slice. But Pizza is not the best thing to eat when you’re watching your weight because one can contain from 300 to 500 calories! With all those trans & saturated fats.

Lao food should be similar to Thai food than Vietnamese. Sticky rice is good to eat but it’s a bit starchy. Try Brown rice and wild rice is good too. When you have meat, try to have something lean like chicken breast, turkey, fish…etc

Food like… Laab or papaya salad is not too bad… but things like curry is fating because of the coconut milk in it, if you’re talking about Lao and Thai food.

If you don’t get home until late… bring snacks. Cottage cheese, reduce fat string cheese, Almond nuts… or any mix nuts.

When you workout… what do you usually do?

I do cardio for 40 minutes and crunches for 10 minutes. What kind of exercise do I use for arms? If you don't mind me asking. What is your nationality?

I had a feeling you were going ask me that and have no problem you’re asking either. I am also Sao Lao… Sai Bai Dee!

Why don’t you do some weight lifting? It will help you burn more fat and make your arms looking lean and clean! Weights will also help your body overall not just the arms!

Keep in mind though… exercising is just one part of losing weight... It’s also your diet that will help you! Now, don’t go starving yourself. It will be counter productive because you will store fat in your body and it will mess up your metabolism.

Shapefit has a lot of good weights workout… Also pictures and instructions for you to follow too. But if you ever need more help let us know. Youtube also have lots of good examples!

I know avoiding food that’s so flavorful and needs rice to balance it out is hard. But try to find alternatives like I mentioned above. Get brown rice instead of white. Wheat bread instead of white. Get lean meat instead of fatty parts. Get grilled instead of deep fried.

I hope that helps! :D
