Feet shifting on Elliptical
O.k., am I the only this happens to? feet tend to shift when I am on the ellpitical. I have to constantly check them to make sure they are properly placed or re adjust them. Anyone else? Anything I can do to stop this insanity? It drives me nuts!

Yes, I have had that problem in the past, especially when I first started. One thing I did was to increase the resistance and raise the level so that it was more up and down motion rather than a "skiing" sliding back and forth. Higher level & higher resistance forced me to really stay centered & push down harder so there was more force to hold foot still. Also, on the elliptical I used the foot pedals had raised edges, sometimes I would wedge each foot against the edge and at the top of the pedal to help keep them from moving. I don't know if this will help you, not knowing what kind of elliptical you have and what options are available on it.
Good luck!

Re: Feet shifting on Elliptical
I did when I first got mine, there was a perfect place I wanted feet, and nothing else but that exact spot felt right. Then, as odd as it may sound, and it may depend on the machine, but I tend to warm up closer to the front of the pedals, as its a shorter lift, then as I get warmed up, and become more intense, I keep sliding feet further back until I'm basically on the balls of feet, and heels are practically hanging off the back. This seems to give me the greatest range of motion, height-wise anyway, though I'm not saying its the best way to do it.......I know it burns legs up. Didn't really solve the problem, but made the problem part of run, so it was ok......Bratts wrote:O.k., am I the only this happens to? feet tend to shift when I am on the ellpitical.
