I just had a quick question that i just thought about so i figured this would be the best place to have this answered...
I normally do cardio for about 30 minutes every time before i do weight training part of the workout. Would one way or another be more effective when working out? Is it better to do cardio up in the beginning to keep heart rate up throughout the workout or does it affect the amount you can lift to a point that it would be better to do at the end of the work out. Any comments to help enlighten me on this would be great! Thanks!

Depends what you're trying to do. Gain mass, stay the same, or loose weight?
I'm an avid body builder and prefer cardio once or twice a week after a workout. I'm currently using a version of EDT which coincidently resembles Cross-Fit but is a bit more intense.
Knowing what you're looking to do would help.

I kind of wondered this myself, actually though maybe I can help.
I've been doing cardio before for the past 2-3 months. I've lost over 30 pounds, so maybe that's the right thing to do. I feel conflicted though. I still have a lot more weight to lose, but I also want to put on muscle mass. I don't know if cardio is hurting that aspect or maybe I just need to ramp up weight training. The cardio beforehand doesn't really affect lifting that much, I can pretty much do the same amount of weight as before. Last week, I did weight training before cardio and ran into a litany of problems. I couldn't lift as much and I struggled throughout cardio session.
The main reason I do cardio before is because I sincerely hate doing it, and figure it's best to get it out of the way beforehand, so I can then focus on weight training. Again, though, I'm no fitness expert by any means and am not sure if this is helping me get stronger, though I know it is helping me lose weight.

Free weight training will drop your body fat % faster than cardio alone. Remember, cardio only burns calories while you are exercising while weight training continues to burn calories over the next 24-48 hours as your body is repairing its muscles...In addition, the addition of lean mass increases your metabolic rate...
Unless you meant interval training..
For best results for myself and clients, we do 5 days x 45 min per session free weights - 15 minutes interval training...
