Interval Training - how often

Post by a05jwal »

I am trying to lose weight/fat and tone up so I am following the diet plans (6 meals, protein at every one) that I found on here and doing weights and cardio. I do weights 3x/week and cardio about 4-5. I also found an interval class at the gym and tried it yesterday and muscles are very sore today so I am thinking it is a good sign. It is 30 min class with about 10 stations that cover the following: jump rope 1 minute; high knee kicks 1 minute, shuffling 1 minute, mountain climbers 1 minute; jumping onto this bench and off into squats for 1 minute; running for 1 minute; and leg kicks for one minute and something else too hard to explain, so we go through it twice filling up 30 minutes (with the breaks ,etc) anyway is this training good for slimming up and do you think doing it just once a week is beneficial?

I've done things like that, and yes it can work, because it is a different challenge for the Cardiovascular system, so your body shouldn't adapt too well to the Cardio you do, so the Cardio should stay pretty effective.
