All I will say is good for him I have been doing cardio since may 1st along with some weight lifting which I hate but do anyways and have dropped 21 LBS and of course I have changed diet as well. I think cardio is very important and would never give it up but to each his own I guess.

Hi, I agree with you and the reason I found this interesting is that ive been doing ALOT of cardio for the last year, I reached a plateu after easily waliking/running 5 to 7 miles in an hr per day and not seeing any further resulsts. I did this and reduced cardio and increased weights and did see a HUGE difference. Just an FYI for the future if this happens to you because I was completely happy with mostly cardio for the 1st 7 or 8 months!

You know it is funny that you say that because the weight is not going as fast as it once was I guess I hit the plateau thing. I do lift weights as much as I hate doing them and I have also changed up cardio from just doing the eliptical bike to now doing the stairmaster, treadmill and stationary bike. I also eat a little more now as well. These changes have helped me loose another 3 LBS the last 2 weeks. From what I have read you really need to shock the body to keep loosing. I am 5ft 11 and now 182 LBS but would like to loose another 5-7 and I would be thrilled. I started out at 204 the 1st week of May so I am pretty happy but want a little more.

Thanks for the heads up though and is something to think about and will probably dedicate more time to the weights

well keep up the hard work! it sounds like you are doing great! The other thing to look into is plyometrics, that has helped some too with the plateau. also on the link I sent there are alot of good other articles on food and other things that are interesting and good to incorporate into the new way of life!

I would probably end up in the hospital if I did those things LOL. I did not see the link on the food you sent for some reason I may be going blind as well in old age.

Thanks for the encouragement it has been a lot of work but for the most part enjoyable as in all things some days are better than others. Tonight is a big weight night for me I can hardly wait "NOT"
