Bio-Impedance Handheld Body Fat/Hidratation Monitor

Post by Reynaldo_gr »

Got one of this devices to at least get an average reading of current body fat% (never though it will be so difficult to get a Standard Fat Caliper here at Dominican Republic   ). now waiting 2 weeks to get a caliper from Amazon or Ebay.

Anyway I know the values I'll get fluctuate according to Hydration Level, I took some reading and these are the average results.

48.4% to 48.8% Hydration: 28.8%-28.2% Body Fat
49% Hydration: 27.1% Body Fat

I decided I'll take something Like 28.6% Body Fat, since reading on hydration were mostly in the 48% range (drinking around 3 gallons of water a day).

I know I have made some progress on lowering fat % because of the response from people around, the mirror, I'm using clothes I could not use 2 years ago, etc. (From size 36 -December 2008- Size 32 now).

So what do you think about those readings? should I use them as a guide until I can get the reading with someone with experience using the calipers or whatever other method?

Also, what should be readings on Hydration? I couldn't find anything regarding this value.

Thanks.

Reynaldo

when checking your body % fat and hydration forget the decimal... they aren't that accurate!

check the % once a week when you wake up before you eat. Anymore is a waste!

The reading is a ball park figure... then again someone with calipers could give a lower or higher reading or the same... it depends on the calipers and the person.

the best measurements are tape measurements of the body. They will tell you more than a % body fat or a scale anyday and pictures!

cheers

as long as you use the same measuring tool you'll be fine

if it's 3% out then it will always be 3% out so as long as the % goes down, you're going great guns
