Whenever I go away I just enjoy the 5 days off. Let body heal and give joints a rest. Just be careful what you eat. 5 days is not a long time in the big scheme of things. I normally come back more motivated and just as strong or even stronger.

Jogging is always a good option, maybe you can do some classic exercises on a mat. There is always something you can do, even on vacation or in the office, I also do some workout in the lunch break in the office.

The short answer: take the week off to rest.

The longer explanation:

I try to give myself a week off every 3 to 4 months. Usually some work mandated trip takes care of forcing this week off. Sometimes I have to force myself to take it on own.

Plan your trips with a good hard workout week the week before. The extra week of rest will be welcomed.

And plan on a vacation every 3 - 4 months (or a week off on that sequence).

I am going away for 4 days this weekend and will just watch what I eat because there will be no gym on the island I am going to and to be honest it might be a good break I have been going like crazy since May 1st
