I see. Keep in mind Martin that everybody is different and needs to choose weights based on their personal strength. If you could easily do 20-30 reps with the 2lb weights then you definitely need to increase the weight so you can only do between 10 and 12 in one set.

Yes, if you do cardio tomorrow and eat as much protein as you can you should do well. :)

Also, remember to check your fridge and freeze and let me know what kind of proteins you have in the hh so i can make suggestions to help you get more protein.

Day 15

Woke up, did 40 crunches in sets of 20 and 40 reverse crunches also in sets of 20.

For breakfast had, 2 wheatabix with milk, 1 boiled egg, a tiny bit of a teaspoon of peanut butter, and green tea.

40mins worth of cardio (excercise bike)

Lunch i had, 2 slices of wheat bread, 4 slices of ham.

I had an apple after.

About 2 30pm, before i went out, had 10 wheat thin crackers (84 calories per 10)

Rided bike about a mile to where i had to go.

Had a cup of juice

Had a bag of hula hoops  130 calories, hopefully hasn't affected me.

Dinner: Chicken nuggets and smiley faces.

Rode about a mile back home.

I think ive eaten pretty well today apart from the bag of crisps and cup of juice, haven't had a bag of crisps in ages, didn't neccesarily want them, but was real hungry and wasn't in a place where i had options of food.

Hope im doing well enough to lose the fat soon?

Hey Martin! I was wondering where you were today.

Hula hoops and smiley faces? I don't know what those are. ;)

So today is a cardio day?

Breakfast looks good! Nice job buddy!!! I'm glad you finally added the egg! Tomorrow you could try eating a couple of eggwhites with that for a bit more protein... but i'm VERY PROUD of you for taking the steps to add the protein. Did you boil the egg yourself? Oh.. and nice job on the green tea! Its very good for you!

Lunch looks good! Yay for protein! You could add some veggies there if your still hungry but great job on the protein!

The afternoon meals are a bit low in protein. The apple is good, but i woud add something like low fat cheese with it. Wheat thins aren't terrible, you could add some peanut butter with them or slices of lunch meat. Are the chicken nuggets fried? If soo then they aren't good for you. They are protein so you get a point for that, however I would stay away from anything fried if possible.

Good job on upping the protein Martin! There are still a few things that you need to work on but I feel like you are making progress. :)

Oh, sorry i forgot to post during day :(

Smiley faces are these, there mainly potatos in faces.

http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1244/854 ... eb.jpg?v=0

Hula hoops are these however the bag wasn't as big in the picture it was a small bag.

http://dev.virginmedia.com/images/hula_ ... 30x300.jpg

And yep, i boiled the egg myself, and today was a cardio day

I don't think the nuggets were fried however im unsure as i didn't cook them but i don't think so. I hope i am making progress, however still haven't noticed any difference

As for peanut butter, the tub is 340g and 100grams is like 650 calories and 23.8g protein or something, so it seems to get a fair amount of protein u need alot of peanut butter?

Hopefully i can continue to make progress and see some results soon thanks for the helpful replys 8)

Oh no worries about not responding sooner... i was just suprised that i hadn't heard from ya.

Looks to me like the smiley faces are fried when they are being made, then to warm them up you simply bake them.. which means that they are most likely fried (I would think) and i would try to stay away from them. I know its hard for you because you eat what your parents ... but i wanted to make sure that you're aware. Did the chicken nuggets have a batter around them? If so they are most likely fried too... i believe they usually dip the chicken in batter, then fry them, then freeze them, then you simply bake them to warm them up... just assuming. Hula hoops aren't the best either friend. Sorry for all the bad news here.

On a lighter note... the first half of your day looks good. :)

Wow good job on boiling the egg yourself! Did you follow the directions that i had given your earlier?

The peanut butter has some protein but not a ton... its a good source of helathy fat though so thats good.

You are doing great Martin! Keep it up!

I have to point out to Martin that Cassiegose and that woman who said you spent too much time on the computer, if you haven't realised, are being very patronizing towards you.

Look at the stuff she's writing -

"It is EXTREMELY frustrating when we commit the time and effort to help you and you continually ask the same questions over and over... its almost as if you aren't even taking the advice that you've been given"

"Its just frustrating when you ask the same questions over and over again... and its frustrating when I answer them over and over again. I want to help you but need you to actually read the advice that i'm giving you. ;) "

Excuse French, but F*** me Martin, this girl has a problem....

If she genuinely wanted to help you, she wouldn't be writing this stuff and giving you directions to boil an egg. She chose to reply to your thread, and if you remember, she started by saying "ask me as many questions as you like". If she didn't like the way this thread went, she could have left it at any time.

advice is - Kill this thread off and stop writing back to this woman, Cassiegose... she isn't helping you. She seems to be a bit of a weirdo who enjoys giving "advice" to a teenager, and relishes the power of being able to become "frustrated" with you when you don't do exactly what she says.

If you showed the thread to a friend, or your mum or dad, they would probably be able to see this, too.

If you want some serious advice on weight training or nutrition/diet, I know one or two very good discussion forums where some guys can help you out without putting you down and if you want to get into weight training they can tell you more than this Casiegose woman can.

I don't know if you can send a private message on this site but if you can then send me one and I'll send you one back with links to those other sites.

I wanted to add this... If you're trying to gain muscle as well as lose fat, you still need to eat a decent amount of food, otherwise you'd end up becoming skinny and weak - so don't sweat over a bag of crisps! Take it from me, I eat a bag practically every day and eat much more than you do, but I still have a BMI of around 21, of between 7 and 8% and a decent amount of muscle for weight - For example I can easily do pull ups.

Your daily diet sounded fine - the only thing you need to do is more cardio exercise (e.g. running, cycling and swimming) to help with the weight loss around your middle and if you want to gain muscle, then you could do some weight training (again, I can refer you to some good sites, and there are also some good books around out there).

Cassie gose is trying to be an expert but I don't think she really knows what she is talking about. She is only advising you to take in more protein, and vegetables, when in fact protein is just one part of your diet - If you're trying to build mass (extra body weight) from increased muscle, then you also need to eat a lot of complex carbohydrates, like rice, potatoes and pasta, as well as the protein food sources. There are loads of books and articles out there with more information, but it sounds like you're eating quite healthily already.

To lose fat, though, you need to do cardio exercise as well as the weights.

Weight training will only help you to become more toned - It doesn't do much by itself to shift fat.

Running (or jogging), cycling and swimming are the best things for shifting fat from around the (and from everywhere else on the body)

Most importantly, you don't want to get obsessive about any of this, as the last thing you want is an eating disorder!

Day 16

Woke up, did 40 reverse crunches - sets of 20 find these easy compared to normal crunches maybe it's where i have a pillow to support back.

40 Crunches - sets of 20, now i really struggled to do these today for some reason, i dont know if it was where i woke up and was hungry but i just seemed to find these really hard this morning for some reason.

Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs, 2 slices of wheatbread with little bit of peanut butter on them.

Lunch - 2 slices of wheatbread warmed up, little bit of butter and 2/3 a can of tuna.

Drinking water only, did weights workout lasted around 20mins i think, used double the weight i did the other day, just hope arms don't kill like they did the other day where i couldn't bend them. A questions i need to ask though is, when i stop at the end of a set, how long break should i have before continuing?

Dinner i had: spagehtti (so it's sort of waterry, and thin, with mince meat.

Ive just had some snacks (10 or so wheat thin biscuits) there like organic stuff, not really biscuits, 10 of them is 84 calories so not bad i suppose for snacking on.

Ben,

I honestly don't know where youre coming from... or what has brought you to this site... but you should know that are you WAY off on your judgements towards me. I'm not here to "partonize" anybody. I'm here to help, and in the past year and half that I have been on this site I think its safe to say that i have helped a great deal of people. If you don't care for style then that is fine with me. However, i think you should be careful coming on here and throwing hurtful words around.. especially when i am only trying to HELP Martin. I have NEVER IN LIFE been called a "weirdo" and honestly don't understand where youre coming from with that one. This is fine though. I'm not going to get too worked up over your hurtful words as I don't know you well enough to do so and honestly you've shown by your two posts that youre way off on your judgements and I personally don't give a damn what you think about me or the advice that i'm giving.

Martin,

GREAT JOB! You've stuck with it for 16 days now! Way to go!

Breakfast looks great!!!....as does lunch! I'm proud of ya! You could throw another meal in there between the two meals... not sure how many hours are between breakfast and lunch?

Between sets... I usually alternate exercises and don't spend a great deal of time resting (usually just long enough to move to next exercise). For example, if next two exercises are pushups and lunges, I would do the pushups, then do the lunges right after finishing the pushups, then pushups, then lunges... and so on. Sometimes I'll grab a drink of water between sets and rest for about 30 seconds or so if i'm extra tired.

Again, good job Martin! You're really sticking with it and doing great.

Uh… Excuse me Ben, but I think YOU are the one with the problem!
Like Cassie mentioned above… who are you to come in here and talk shit to someone that’s very helpful and honest!

And for honest opinion… Ben, YOU are the weirdo!

So… you have 7-8% bodyfat… does that mean your head carries all the fat?
Because it seems like it’s way too big!

A lot of us in here are trying to learn and not put one another down. We come in peace and give each other advices.
If it’s not right then kindly put your thoughts in.

No need to come in here and be so Harsh! – That Stink!

I give her props spending time helping him and being honest to tell him to go back and re-read previous posts because he was asking the same questions over and over!

Cassie,

I know you don’t need reinforcement that you’re doing a great job helping people in this Forum room.
You ROCK and you inspired me to continue to work hard!
Continue doing what you do because we appreciated! :D

Martin,

Good Job dude… Keep it up!

Thanks for the advice with the sets, i will take that on board for the next weight day, it's been along 16 days, but sadly i can't say ive noticed any results, hopefully i will soon though! Also i had breakfast kinda late which is why i didn't feel hungry inbetween lunch so didn't need to eat.

Im glad i seem to be doing well and hopefully it will show soon, tomorow is a cardio day so will stick to doing 40mins on the excercise bike and hopefully go into town with a friend as i have to take something back.

Thanks again :D
