Frequent headaches

Post by agthompson »

Lately (since I started eating better and working out), I have been getting frequent headaches before bedtime and when getting to work in the morning. coworkers seem to think it's because I'm not eating enough.

I'm eating (trying) to eat 6 times a day. I'm not really calorie counting, but I should be taking in enough (2100 or so).

6', 224 lbs, 26 yrs old. Overall I feel so much better, but the headaches have me a bit concerned. Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi there,

The first thing that comes to mind is dehydration. Are you drinking lots of water?

The next thing that comes to mind is back/spinal alignment. I had a friend a while back who was getting awful headaches and finally went to the chiropractor and found that his back and neck had been out of wack causing his frequent headaches.

If the headaches persist I would definitely see a doctor.

Yes. I think it could be some kind of issues regarding posture, nerve transmission in the CNS, and possibly the PNS, water intake, maybe even Carbohydrate consumption, in respect of a possible lack of.

Thanks so much for the quick replies.

I personally don't believe dehydration is the issue. I work in a body shop with a paint booth running at 150 degrees and all the doors open for 10 hours a day. I drink 3 cups a water on average every 45 minutes or so all day long. At home I'm a drink a'holic (I drink alot of sugar free Crystal Light) Usually 2 quarts every 3 days or so for what little time I'm at home. This doesn't include the protein shake after workouts.

I definitely wouldn't rule out posture though. Maybe I'll look into buying the Dr. Scholes inserts I seen at Walmart 8)

Again, I appreciate it a lot. It was beginning to worry me. If it persists I'll head to the Dr.
