Any Ideas about this ???

Post by jasondanough »

Hey I just recently had surgery, and I am looking for any new isolation moves for biceps and triceps? Unfortunately I am not able to do any compound movements where the real size comes, but till I heal, i could use any new ideas for bi's and tri's!

Has your doctor cleared you to train yet?

I am cleared to do biceps, but if I do any compound movements at all, it could re-tear labrum. I am certified by a number of organizations as a personal trainer, but I love learning new ideas, especially when I can only isolate and can't do anything compound! Trust me its driving me crazy, I am seeing people do compound movements and just go crazy! I want size back, but I realize its going to be pretty much impossible with no compound movements! This is why I was trying to get an new ideas, any odd isolation curls that you CAN THINK OF?? ANYTHING?? I realize arms will be ahead of most of larger muscles, but when I am cleared to go at it, i'll gain size easily!

I can do legs, unfortunately its all about lower body till I get this healed! The doc said no weight bearing moves for a minimum of 8 months, and I am 2 and a half in! So legs are getting huge, but upper is shrinking, but I just want to see if anyone could recommend any iso moves for bi's and tri's that are not conventional, and that will not affect shoulder! IM getting bored as **** with the same stuff!

Did your doctor order any physical therapy? I would think slowly bringing the strength back through resistance of some sort would be in order.

Doc has had me doing therapy for like 2 months! I am cleared to do biceps and triceps without compound movements, so its all isolation!

it seems ridiculous but there's a million variations you can do...if he's dome your rehab right he should have already strengthened those muscles in isolation or at least started to gather range of motion back in them

what are we classifying as isolation? bb curls or concentration curls?

there's an article on t-nation that went ou 2 weeks ago on biceps, give that a look...some nice ideas there

Yeah I realize there are a million variations. That is why I am asking if anyone has anything new, never seen as far as isolation for bi's and tri's? Per doctor protocol I am not able to do any weight training for a minimum of 8 months, but most likely longer. The doc and physical therapist won't let me swim or even do a **** pushup! It blows! I am losing serious size, I can't do compounds cuz it jeopardizes the repair! So this is why I have to go isolation which I know doesn't do ****, but I have to try and retain some size and strength for when I am able to lift like normal! :( :(

what about the other arm? training the non injured side can have a neurological effect on the injured, non working side

No, I am not doing anything with both shoulders! I am just focusing on four things, tri's, bi's, abs, and legs only! Nothing else at all! I asked the question to see if there were any new odd weird curls or tricep kickbacks that has a TWIST TO IT! SOMETHING DIFFERENT, ODD That I have never seen before!
