Starting soon, looking for some advice :D

Post by leeshapwnz »

First I want to say I am SO GLAD I found this site!

husband is currently seeing a personal trainer. I am, at the moment, full term pregnant (actually going in tomorrow morning for c-section :D) but had plans to start seeing a trainer also once I've been given the OK to work out. Since I found this site, I want to try using the workout and meal plans provided to see if I can be successful without a trainer, as it already costs husband over $200 a month and it will be a stretch for us to add another $200 for me to see a trainer. Also, if I am successful, husband is going to use the site as well, saving even more money!

So to try and make this a bit shorter, I'll get to point. I am 5'11" and currently weigh 316 pounds. I have (finally) reached breaking point with weight and want to be healthy/fit not only for myself, but also for husband and sons.

I figured out (using the tools provided here) what caloric intake should be as well as how many carbs, protein and fat grams I should be having every day/meal and looked over the beginner weight training plans.

main question is, how often should I vary the workouts that I'm doing? Also, I don't see that the workout plans include cardio, and was wondering how much cardio I should be doing in addition to the weight training. Most likely I will only be able to make it to the gym 2-3 times a week. Is that going to be enough?

I am hoping to take weight loss kind of slowly because I want to tone as I lose and try to keep from having a ton of loose skin. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

first of all good luck with tomorrow...

secondly diet will be the key for you initially as you won;t be able to do much for a while so keep wt at bay, those food plans will need to be adhered to

once you're closer to getting back in action then enquire about exercise as there may be situations arise from tomorrow

Thanks for the good luck wishes! The surgery went very well and our new baby boy is cute as can be!

Thank you very much for the advice. I didn't even think that something from the delivery could cause a problem with exercise. I've already started following a meal plan in the hospital and will speak with doctor about anything I might need to keep in mind once I am cleared for exercise.

Thanks again! I'm looking forward to getting body back to where it should be!

Get out an play at least an hour a day. That's what I've been doing for the past year and I've lost about 30 pounds. At least 1 hour a day I go out and break a mean sweat. I just make sure that whatever it is that I'm doing is enjoyable and since you have kids you should have tons to enjoy. I know you have the newborn now so its going to be a bit tough, but try and squeeze in a jog or something that will allow you to incorporate the baby. One more bit of advice would definitely be to look on youtube for workout related advice videos or women's health. Another awesome website is gyminee.com. And I have to add this or else I wouldn't be true to myself....if you're looking for fitnesswear or yoga apparel then please check out site. When you setup an account please let me know who you are and I'll make sure to give you a discount. [/url]
