It uses yoga & pilates-inspired moves. Reviewers on Yelp! claim that this workout shows improvements in firming & toning up the body, vs most of the workouts they've tried in the past.

go to: www.BarMethod.com

Has anyone worked with the Bar Method? (in an actuall Bar Method location or with thier DVD's?) Does it really work? I'm considering trying one of their classes but it's hugely expensive so I'd like to know if it's worth it for a lazy person like me, who tries to run & lift weights 2-3x/week but getting nowhere. :o

Bar Method

Post by barmethodla »

Hi -
I own the studio in LA and I ran across your question. Here's what someone from Living Fit said:
Hey everyone! I just have a quick post today, but it is super exciting!!!
The Bar Method TOTALLY works! I wore a pair of pants yesterday, I haven’t worn since I was a good 10 lbs lighter!! Rick was even noticing muscles more. He says I am slimming down and getting more defined. HELLO! What more can you want?!?!?
To order the dvds, you can go to http://www.barmethod.com/dvds/exercise-dvds.html
There are also a lot of studios and more being built. Go to the main web page to see where they are: http://www.barmethod.com.
See you at the Bar!

I'd agree. You could burn more Fat bouncing up and down on a Pogo Stick for an hour, which is cheaper, and if your technique was good, you could attempt a little squat move on the way back down, for increased Glute and Leg activation.

Just make sure if the spring is a bit rusty, that you lube it first, then you're good to go .

In all seriousness, it is just a gimmick. A good diet and having a good training programme in the Gym, can make all the difference.

They are proven to work. A lot of these kinds of gimmicky things probably aren't, and would have no solid peer reviewed, independant, scientific analysis to back them up as credible in the long-term.

Whereas a good diet and training regime, has lots and lots of peer reviewed and credible science all over the net.
