EDT - Squat Shoulder Press (used 30 lb BB), paired with Stiff Legged Dead Lift w/bent row (also 30 lb BB) no rest - I think it was 5 sets of 6 each. I lose track. I normally do these with 15 lbs DB's - liked the BB.
you should be tracking these

the point is to use the same wt for the entire 28 days and perform more sets each time you repeat it so if you did 5 rounds this time then next time you need to get 6

I used the same weights on these exercises, just switched DB's for a Bar Bell as it was better for shoulder. I thought we were suppose to do as many as we could for 10 minutes? I lose count....paying most of attention on doing them right - I love doing them - after the contest I will continue to pair combo exercises like this with no rest.

How is everyone else doing on their exercise program? Are you able to complete all required moves, reducing time, increasing weights and keeping count when performing EDT? How about those 10-1 ladders? Burpees? Push Ups?

Maybe I shouldn't be posting the results of efforts - seems I can't do it right :(

Lu,

I think your on the right track. Ive been really focusing on good form with the same weight ( I only went up with DB press as it began to feel too light for me) and increasing reps as Swanso stated in post above. lats are killing me this week as I decreased resistance band for chin-ups which are good cause that means I'm getting stronger. Still very sore. Burpees are still on shit list as they are one of those exercises I absolutely hate....but I push through them. 8 more days folks! Keep up the great work everyone  Holly is kicking butt and Lu is really making great progress. :D

Thanks Boopster! I guess we all are just doing the best we can!

left upper arm is hurting me this week - too much manipulation from the chiropractor I think - maybe I should get it looked at, Xray or something - would that be an MRI?

poor son who recently had rotator cuff surgery was out of work for 50 days recovering and since then he has torn another area on his rotator cuff that can't be fixed by surgery. He's really bummed! He's the Iron Man type and it will kill him not to be able to lift again, much less help someone move. He's always been the strong one :( I guess he's going to have to learn how to say No, when someone asks him to move - other son had back surgery and can't do those things. He'll have to focus on other things - lots of positives to think about! Guess I need to increase strength - I'm the only one left to do all the heavy lifting - hubby has back problems too! :):)

It's a good thing today is a day off - muscles are in need of repair big time! Those squats on Friday were killers! Squats with weights, squat combos with weights and BW squats - I'm squatted out!

I'm doing the best I can and feeling a little frustrated with the scale too. I have a lot to lose and a lot of toning to do but I wish the numbers would drop faster on the scale...I know, I know....it's not about the number on the scale--- it's about how you feel, how your clothes fit, how many inches you lose, etc. but it would cheer me up if the number would go down faster! LOL

I started fresh...no working out experience, diet before this contest started was eat whatever the heck I want, when I want and excersise was walking--- so I am very proud of myself for coming this far in such a short period of time.

Thanks for all the support---- and good luck to the rest of you!

We all are proud of you too!!! .. Well, at least I AM!!! :D
I totally understand it’s hard to NOT focus on the scale…
But…It really takes time… Some people don’t noticed the difference until 6 weeks...
I didn’t notice until 2 + long months!!!!

By you doing this competition… it’s like a kick start for you…
Now you have experience working with weights!
Know what to eat, how much to eat and when to eat!
And after this… hope you will continue and you will reach your goal sure!!!!! :)

Hi Holly - before I started in Dec '08 I too never exercised before in life, ate what I wanted - what I felt I had to as I traveled a lot for work and experienced very stressful times for the past couple of years with work, so really let myself go.

I finally got on board and still here 6 months later and loving it! At this point it's hard to believe I was over 40 lbs heavier 6 months ago! What was I thinking? And I still have a ways to go....

So glad you joined us - you can't find a better group to offer support and guidance! You are so much fun and add so much - thank you and good luck!
