i new here and need some help i swim a lot i am on the swim team i get up at 5:45 in the morning and swim until 7:30 but i tore cartilage in left knee doctor says i need surgery to get it out i cant run at all and it hurts when i go down the stairs i am about 240lbs i am trying to lose weight the biggest problem is stomach i do push up and squats i dont do sit ups

Should i continue with the swimming workout everyday?
Should i do an ab workout everyday
i am hurt but i can still do something

torn carilage is pretty generic and can be different for everyone (pain, what they can and can't do etc)
i'd have you go for more hip dominant variations such as deadlifts, stidff legged deadlifts, pull throughs and maybe reverse lunges depending on what pain free rainge of motion you have...all other upper body stuff should still able to be performed
swimming can stay everyday too but it's not that great for fat loss as you don't have to support your own bodyweight and you'll also hold onto a little fat to keep core temperature where it needs to be in the luke warm water
all that being said 80% of your fat loss will come from what you eat
