I have read many articles on post workout meal which says that one should take whey protein along with carbs. Is it ok to have whey protein in banana shake. Here is the composition
500 ml skimmed milk
3 medium sized Banana
1 scoop (30 gms) of whey protein.
Please let me know if its fine or do I need to make some changes to it.
Thanks

I would actually have the banana prior to working out and have another form of carb after working out. Some research shows that taking in dextrose and maltodextrin right after working out (along with some protein) is best for rapidly restoring glycogen (energy) stores. Sooo if you wanted to do a shake after working out you could simply buy a product that has a combo of protein, dextrose and maltodextrin and have that right after working out. I would then wait an hour or so and have a complex carb with a little more protein (for instance oatmeal with eggwhites is a good choice). Does that make sense?
