Yeah, maybe I didn't hold stomach as hard as I should have been. I questioned that myself after the fact.

It seems the only two exercises I don't seem familiar with are the Posterior Chain and Push Up and Hip Extension. I know what a push up is of course, just not the two together. And I guess I wouldn't know how to put a Reverse Lunge and Cable Row together.

In the past the only thing that has hurt me is, if I do a lot of lunges knees start to hurt, like below the knee cap.

And I was mistaken about trip, I thought it was next week, but it is the 11th (I just thought we were later in the month than we were), so it is 2 weeks from tomorrow.

I could wait until after then and just try to clean up eating for these 2 weeks, I would like to lose something before trip!! 8)

Oh, and it's been about 8 hours since I hurt it, I can definately still feel it, and I cannot bend over, but movement has improved quite a bit. I can't say for sure if it's the advil or not though.

Oh, and so if I'm not doing vigorous exercise.....cut out carbs altogether? I will probably still walk 4 miles in the morning.....upright positions don't bother me.

Since today is day 1 of clean eating, I am dying for sugar!!! It usually takes me about 3 days to get over craving junk.

Thanks swanso!

posterior chain exercises are deadlift variations, long stride reverse lunges, high step ups, glute ham raises, supine hip extensions etc so you'd simply choose one and do that for the program

push up and hip extension is do 1 full push up then raise one foot off the floor towards the roof squeezing your arse as hard as you can then repeating with the other foot = 1 rep

sort of like this:

except you do the push up woth both feet on the floor then when you're in the straight arm position, raise 1 leg upo and down, then the other

reverse lunge cable row:

in the meantime get the food part down pat which should have you drop some wt btw now and then and keep up your regular workouts too working on the exercises you're not really sure of or haven't done a lot of so come 2 weeks, we're more then ready to go

push ups on fist

Push ups in clip referenced above are done on fists no bent wrist and on softer grass negating a real crush to knuckles.

I'm doing all push ups on fists with thumbs out near index finger and wrists feel way better. I may even get a thin gardening type pad for under knuckles but the rug seems fine at the mo.

Some day when I'm no longer bigger than a house I might even move outside and do them on the grass to show off to traffic in hood.

Two more weeks!!!!

Post by hollyween »

Well, I am up two pounds from last week (last week lost 7lbs) but I started period (I know TMI) and I think that has something to do with it. The working out is going okay--- with the exception of last Wednesday when I PUKED.....
The diet is going okay- I am just getting really sick of the same crap. Not a lot of choices but I'm doing it.....so YIPPEE!
If burpee's are hard for boopster/Michele- you can only imagine how hard they are for this out of shape and overweight woman.

Have a good week everyone- and Good Luck!

LoL... I hate burpees too!!!!

At one time.. I was following a program where i had to do 100 of them!
No... Not at once... 10 at a time... but at the end of the session.. it would be 100. Oh yeah... same time... 100 squats too!

Haven't touched that workout for awhile :P

Beginner burpees the only way to go! This old and overweight gal just can't do 'em!

I'll be weighing in a little late as I won't be home until later - but I'm not expecting much :( On the positive side I went to the beach both Saturday and Sunday and got compliments big time. Most people haven't seen me since last summer here so 40 lbs makes a huge difference - especially at the beach! Of course I'm not wearing a tiny bikini .....yet :)

Holly, at 172, you're not that overweight, so I wouldn't potentially be too critical of yourself. The main thing is to keep pushing forward, and try to stay positive.

You'e only 35, and even if your body composition might be a little on the fullsome side, you still look great and I can see why hubby married you. I mean a smile like that alone, could make any prospective suitor feel lucky, because that smile looks like a window to a very wonderful place.

I'm sure you'll get there soon enough. You've lost 5lbs overall, and 2lbs of the gain is W R from the TOM, so that will go soon enough.

Keep smiling, feel proud and keep making those small, but worthwhile steps. You're doing great :).

I am so proud of Holly! She has dedicated herself and works her heart out when she meets me at the gym. I may push her a little, but she knows she can do it. She will not quit! She is an inspiration to many. Go Holly girl! You are doing great;)
