i have been workin out for a month and a half now.
see before this i used live alone nd now have shifted with parents. so this period has seen an increase in diet. I have been exercisin , but have been eatin a lot of mom made delecious food. so i have been workin out but eatin unwisely at the same time. so the last one and a half month has seen an increase in muscle for me though not much and ive put on weight a lot of it.

Hey there. Yeah I would suggest to eat more whole foods, less of the stuff your mom is making for you. You need your protein, whole grains, fruits and vegetables. The protein sources that the above poster metioned are great. Just take it easy on the nuts as they do contain higher amounts of fats. I would up your workout time as well. Thats about the only thing you can do.

Good luck, and feel free to message me about vegetarianism/veganism any time, I have been a vegetarian for 3 years now.

In response, I didn't actually mention Nuts, I mentioned Peanuts which are a Legume. Not being rude, just pointing that out :).

Nuts have low Protein, unless you eat a cup full and then you're having 700-800 calories mostly from the Fats, more if it's Cashews from the Carbs too.

Though you're right about the Fat content in Peanuts, but it is good fat, the ALA kind, so providing the person isn't pigging out on them at any one time, they should be fine.

Actually now thinking about it, if the person is concerned about possible Aflatoxins / mould, they should buy American grown, or western grown Peanuts, not ones from Asian sources, as those have been proven to often be processed and stored, in less stringent and hygenic ways, leading to an increased risk of Aflatoxin promotion.
