Need a bit of advise on abs training.

Post by scottlpool2003 »

Okay forgive NOOBishness but I need a bit of advise on training ABS. Here's details:

Age: 21
Weight: 12st 4pnds
Height: 5, 10"

I only started at the gym last week and I know it's going to take a few months but I just need your advise on if I'm doing the right things. overall goal is to have nice ABS and arm muscles so here's what I've been doing:

Exercise bike: 8km
Stomach crunch: X 100
Stomach twist: X 200
Rowing machine: 1000m
Leg press: 50 @ 25-45kl
Leg ups (holding whole weight off the floor and bringing legs up to chest) X 20
Squats X 50
Push ups X 20
Weights (dumbells in jogging motion) 30 @ 6kl

I spend about 2 hours in the gym and had one day off. I don't do all these in order I do a set on one and move onto the next giving myself variation on what muscles I'm training giving one set of muscles a small rest while working another then coming back to it. I've been trying to eat high protein foods and keeping calories and fat contents down. Is this sufficient enough to reach goal?

Thanks in advance.

Scott.

Nothing too extreme pasta, beans, peas, bread. I've been doing some research on high protein food so on the next shop i'll be stocking up on other things like chick peas, salads, pretzels. Is there anything else I should be taking into account?

try doing less reps with higher weight with abs and squats. with abs about 20-25 reps and squats 8-10 reps
