pre-flight workout

Post by sunnybeach38 »

Hi there;

I will be heading out to Australia in a few weeks and wonder how I should schedule workouts around departure. I leave Sunday mid afternoon and would like to workout Sunday morning, even if just cardio. I usually train legs on Saturday and wondering if that is a good idea with the following day beginning the long haul ( this is of great concern!).

Also, I plan to get to a gym the day after I arrive, is this a good idea ?

Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated !

Cheers,

Sunny

Hmm i'm thinking cardio could be ok for the morning to get the metabolism up for the flight, with the average food you might be eating. Legs the day before could leave you stiff as buggery after sitting on a seat for 12+ hours, if you dont mind that then sweet.

whereabout here are you going too? watch the footy while you're here anyway, the aussie rules kind, not rugby

i'd do an upper body wrokout before take off myself, you'll be fine...you're going on vacation so you'll get plenty of recovery time

the day you get there maybe do an easy bodyweight, full body type program and shake off the jet lag, you probably won;t be up to a full tilt workout so do that one before take off as suggested

Many of the nicer hotels have a gym on premises. Check that out before deciding upon your workout.

At the very least you can bring along your running gear and get in a decent run.
