Adding cardio after workouts

Post by Nycest »

I have some concerns and I hope someone could help me.

I want to drop body fat. I am trying to add HIIT in about 2-3 times a week M,W,F, and weight training 3x a week Tues, Thurs, Sat.

1. Could I add a 15-20 cardio run (treadmill) after workouts?

2. I normally work out legs on Sat. to give them some more time to rest before Monday rolls around. Should I possibly not do HIIT on mondays for this reason?

thanks for the help

That amount of cardio work should be fine--it shouldn't affect your strength training.

If your goal is fat loss, be sure you are making some adjustments to your diet.

diet is good, I think.

I cut out all sugar, salt, and processed foods from diet.

I eat about 5-6 meals a day, drink a ton of water, and keep it as clean as possible. I try to eat a solid piece of protein with every meal. I keep the carbs down on off days, and eat more of them on workout days. I also supplement whey protein in the mornings and after workouts (which includes HIIT).

Sounds good; just be sure you have some idea of how many calories you are taking in.

Here's some info:
