Problem with cardio rower machine?

Post by teppum42 »

Hi,

Does anyone else hurt/rub their tailbone when they do the rower? I don't know if I'm sitting too forward in the seat, so I try now to sit a little further back, but should butt hang off the back? I read it was a good exercise, and sometimes left hip gets a little sore and the rower doesn't seem to hurt it when I need a break from jogging.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Keep your back straight. It's exactly the same principle as used on a Cble / Pulley Row Machine, so don't be tempted to lurch forward, on the relaxed part of a stroke, as then you're forced to straighten up quite a bit on the back stroke part.

I would say probably best not to have a bit of bottom drooping off the back of the seat, incase you possibly get a little chafing, or digging in off the corners.

I have a Concept II rower and it is reasonably comfortable for about 20 minutes. I don't carry enough fat on rump to provide adequate padding so I do rowing in sets of 20 minutes.

What brand of rower are you training on?
