Ok All

I am very intimated by weight training! I cannot afford a personal trainer! I have been doing a class called Body Pump (Les Miller) for well over a year and I am BORED! And the instructors are ill prepared. Also spin classes. I don’t have the definition I want either I need to shake it up. So I am looking at this Fit Tracker routine for a 4 day w/o week. M~ chest and back, T~ Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps W~Off, Thur~ Quadriceps, Hamstrings, Calves, F~ Abs does that sound ok? I’m used to doing all of these areas 3 days week with that BP class. Please advise.

Thank You!

I know what you mean! I can't stand being bored with the same routine all the time. So switching things up a bit can definitely help. you've come to the right place!

Have you tried researching the "Waterbury Method" You can google it and that may help you. I also have a book called, "The New Rules of Lifting for Women" by Lou Schuler, Cassandra Forsythe, Alwyn Cosgrove. I highly recommend it. Great book for us gals! It explains more about the effectiveness of total body training and incorporating HIIT. Give it a try and let us know what you think

Two options.

1. Do the above.

2. Do what you said.

Keeps it simple, rather than bamboozling you with different options that may all offer potential.

Try one of the two options for 4-6 weeks, if you don't like it do the other.

Hi,

Thats actually the same workout that I'm on right now... except I'm doing shoulders with abs. If you're confused on how to do the exercises you should check out shapefit.com (click on link in upper right corner) and then go to.... (I think) the exercises section. You might have to look around a little because I can't remember exactly how to get there but it lists exercises and you just click on an exercise and it will show you a demonstration of how to do it. Its a helpful site. :)

there must have been something missing, any wt work shouldn;t have lost muscle...maybe your cal's were so low they weren;t enough to sustain your current muscle let alone rebuild it and grow it

i think we may need to work a little smarter is all

Bummer Amatlack! I will admit that it was an adjustment for me as well. I had just finished doing a differnt type of training for a specific goal. After 2 weeks of doing as the book suggested, I felt the same way but stuck with it, careful to watch form and quality of exercise I performed. The routines grew on me. Plus I love the information in the beginning of the book. I feel it gives a good explantion for a novice person beginning with weights and the importacne of eating properly. Sorry it didn't work out for you

Some things just don't give people the feel good thing. It's like when I did pyramid training years ago. I was doing as 12, 9, 6 rep methodology. After about a month I was like, yeah the last set feels good the middle one feels pretty good the first one just is a bit of a let down. I think I'd rather do 3 sets of 6-10 and canned the pyramids off.
