Is it ok to eat these food almost daily?
I eat healthfully every day, but i also eat quite a few of the same foods daily,
foods like a handfull of cashews, 1 medium avacado, natural cottage cheese. Id eat these almost everyday, for a source of either healthy fats or just a snack, is this ok? (mainly with the cashews is it ok to have these daily)

Looks good. I eat a lot of the same foods but try to get a variety of fruits and vegetables. Mix it up a little. Each day I pack a Tupperware with mixed fresh vegetables and fruit and take that to work with me. I try to get a variety so that I get all of vitamins and minerals from the foods I eat. Don't like supplements. Tried them for a while but found they just left me bloated.[/u]
I know variety is key in diet, i eat a large variety of fruit and veg every day, and every day its the same stuff
Avacado, cashews, Cauliflower, broccolli, rocket/spinach/watercrest, tomato, red/green pepper, carrots, mushrooms, lettuce, cucumber, brussel sprouts, sweetcorn, apple, banana.
cheers for the feedback, i was just making sure that nuts and avacado where fine (im only eating 1 handfull of nuts and 1 med. avacado a day)
thanks for clearing it up, coz i like avacado/cashews/nat. peanut butter n struggle to find any other healthy fats.

Sounds like you are doing great. Some other good choices are sweet potatoes, squash, berries and citrus fruits. I replace pasta many times with spaghetti squash. I make homemade French fries with butternut squash and I love a baked sweet potato topped with salsa or cottage cheese. Sweet potatoes and blueberries are considered by many to be super foods.Bigboi118 wrote:I know variety is key in diet, i eat a large variety of fruit and veg every day, and every day its the same stuff

Just the other day at a banquet I had zucchini that had been through a grater or something, and was the shape of spaghetti and had a spaghetti-like texture- which I am super excited to try and replace pasta dishes with. Not sure if it had been steamed or boiled or what. It looked like noodles but I swear it was zucchini. I should have asked how it was cooked but didn't think of it...

I bet it was spaghetti squash. It is excellent. Very low cal. I use it in place of or mixed with other pasta. Tonight we had tuna casserole. Half spaghetti squash, half whole grain pasta, mushrooms, tuna, cream of celery soup, sweet onions and sweet peppers. Very good. With salmon burgers. Yum. And corn on the cob.teppum42 wrote:Just the other day at a banquet I had zucchini that had been through a grater or something, and was the shape of spaghetti and had a spaghetti-like texture- which I am super excited to try and replace pasta dishes with. It has helped with things like Immune system, I really believe that, and also it did to some extent help with sleep patterns I believe, although I didn't often get issues with sleep anyways.
I also did a while back, start taking a tablet form of something called Berocca. like a 500mg Vit C, but with extras. Good value too.
Then I started taking a pharmacy brand Oil supplement. Has a 2:1:1: ratio of Omega 3,6,9.
So you basically get roughly just over 240mg 3 and just over 120mg 6 and 9, plus some Tocopherol.
For the cost, what I take now is an 8 month supply, (1 a day), and gives me as much Omega 3 for 8 months, as I'd get taking Omega 3 seperately for 2 months, (obviously O 3 would give higher doses), but I wouldn't necessarily get the Vit E, (Soy Tocopherols), or the 6 and 9, and for the actual price, which was about 10% more than buying 2 x 30 Omega 3 capsules, it was much better value as it's 250 caps per container and lasts 4 times longer.
That' all I've been taking, or might be likely to take. Did consider possibly a powdered flax, but didn't want to spend more money on things like that right now.

I do have sleep problems. Maybe I will try Glutamine again. I have been reading some interesting articles on Flax. I use to take it all the time. husband also. There is some research being done on flax and prostate cancer risk. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/flaxseed/AN01712Boss Man wrote:It has helped with things like Immune system, I really believe that, and also it did to some extent help with sleep patterns I believe, although I didn't often get issues with sleep anyways.
