I am trying to have healthier eating habits but sometimes on the weekends its just soo hard. For the past three weekends though, if I thought I ate too much fri. or Sat., I on Sunday! I do the Hollywood 24hr diet! I just feel that maybe Im getting myself into an unhealthy habit! question is....are diets bad for you?!

I agree with Amatlack,

Alot of the weight lost in those things isn't legit... sometimes its water weight and sometimes its simply not having any food in your body. Plus, when you starve yourself you are more likely to splurge the next day.. which is just going to screw you diet up even more. I say if you have a bad diet day you should simply learn from your mistakes and remember to do better next time. We are all human after all and none of us are going to do this perfectly. Whenever I eat to much it makes me feel horrible (both physically and mentally) and I feel like I've let myself down. I try to remember how I feel so the next time I want to splurge I can look back on that and resist the urge. I once read a phrase that says "nothing tastes as good as being thin feels". I say that to myself alot when I'm being tempted. Although I don't really like the term "thin" I think thats a good reminder. :)

Thank You!!...I love that quote.
I'll just remember it like this "Nothing taste as good as being Fit feels" :D ... which is ultimate goal.
Is true, every time I eat something I shouldnt have I just feel aweful! Have to keep that in mind.

A or clensing should never include fasting. I am no expert, but I know there are certain food you should not have while detoxing, usually just the processed stuff, and some natural teas and herbs that help the process. I was listening to the jillian michaels radio show, a week or two a go and she was talking about clensings. Google her and you can listen to past broadcasts.

Worst thing I've heard of is that maple syrup diet. Maple Syrup, Lemon Juice, Cinnamon and something else, about 10-12 times a day for a week or two.

Apparently the artist Beyonce Knowles, (or perhaps Knownothing), lost around 14lbs on it.

Meanwhile away from the world of la-la land, and badly taught or corrupt nutritionists, logic reins, hopefully.

Thanks everyone for your response! :D

I survived the weekend and did well on diet, even at the car show which were only selling greasy philly cheese steaks and sodas!! yey me!
I decided to dump out the rest of the and not do it again!

I will concentrate on making the right choices on the weekends instead! eventually it will be easier for me, I am trying to make new healthy eating habits permanent!

I'm glad about your dump. most of those are pretty hit and miss at best.

I'm sure you'll be able to achieve what you want, because you sound really focused on it, and you've proven you haven't slipped when you could have.

Don't.

All of the science suggests that programs are nothing but harmful in a variety of ways; regardless of what the advertisements may say and the anecdotal evidence that people may have, if the end goal is HEALTH, steer clear of programs, and head toward a healthy diet.
