Gain muscle mass

Post by 2nd2none »

hey. im 14 years old, and i want to play football for next year's season.

i am built, but not big.

i have a barbell bench press of 160 (workout weight not max)- 8 reps, incline, of 140- 10 reps, barbell curl of 120- 10 reps, squat of 240- 10 reps, and a shoulder press of 120- 10 reps.

as i said before, i am not that big, but i need to get big FAST so i can make football tryouts.

here is workout routine. tell me what im doing wrong.

i workout everyday- 4 sets of barbell bench press at 160 workout weight.
4 sets of barbell incline bench press at 140 workout weight
2 sets of barbell curl at 120 workout weight
and i do squats in sets of 3 about once a week.

how long does it take to gain muscle? and how much muscle would i gain per month? and weight? diet is perfect for weight lifting.

i am not gaining muscle at all. please help me.

your only 14 take it easy...at that age you'll mainly get bigger by maturing not from anything else but you will get stronger...if you've only started working out in the last 8 weeks or so then it takes that long for the muscles to start growing...other wise take out the curls and add pull ups, rows and deadlifts with a lot of food...at your age any food will do as your growing anyway

This is what everyone has been telling me and it looks like it might just be working for me. Don't train everyday because your muscles need to rest in order to grow, also don't train teh same muscles two days in a row.

yah sry by don't train everday i meant don't train the same muscle everyday, you can still train everyday just as long as you're not training the same muscles for two or more consecutive days...
