Yes, but the body already has Abs, the building of Abs makes them more solid.
People who have low bf%, and low muscle mass, will still have Abs, but that doesn't mean they will have good posture, or indeed the kind of conditioning in their Middle secations, that will protect them from the rigours of life and old age.
6pacs don't just occur becasue of Cardio, you need a good Abs regime, and a good diet, as your diet builds Abs, the same as it does other muscles.
Frankly, it's always better to have good solid Abs, and no definition, than it is to have flat, weak Abs, and a cut look. That's why a lot of guys who are over 80, walk real slowly or have a stoop / bent Back, because they had weak Abs when young, which got weaker in old age, although other factors play a part, like other weak muscle groups, reduction of bone density, etc etc, it's not just about the Abs.

How long did it take you to get that 8pack? because i have been doing more than 50 (sometimes even a 100) and i used to run all the time for like 30 mintues slow speed of 6-7mph I stopped with the running although i am probably going to start again soon i just didn't have time, i have been doing ab work for over 6 months and i don't have a 6pack, and definetly not an 8pack i am pretty skinny but i still have a little skin (don't have a clue anymore about bf% since every internet tests i did gave me a different answer from 5%-13%), so do u have a clue why i might not have that 6 pack (considering i have a much better than average diet although not perfect because i sometimes go for junk food like 1-2 times a month or some other unhealthy choice and i started eating more veggies and fruits because of the advice that was given to me by some of you ppl) and how long did it take you to get your 8pack?

well i started lifting weights last year around august 15 and i just did sit ups like everyother day like 50 then 60 then i got in to a p.e class and every week we ran a mile and like in the whol p.e. class we ran alot and like after the mile we did as many sit ups as we could but it didnt take me to long line not even a year and funny thing is i used 2 b chubby
but recently i quit working out and i got a lil fat so 8 pack went a lil bit away but i got no problems tryng 2 get it back
but idk just try runing alot then wen ur done running take like a 10 min brake if u need more then take more time then do sit ups like 60 and if u can do 100 then try for the one hundred
oh and like try not 2 eat as much junk food just eat like regular food like that ur parents of family memebers make
but to get 8 pack like like 7 to 8 months
Ok thanks, i used to be chubby too so i am not completely disappointed with results just think i could make them better, and i tried to get an estimate of how fast you were going to run a mile in 6 minutes and you had to be going at about 16km/h or 10mi/h. By the way posts about getting a 6pack keep on popping up and almost every single one of them has some success story or advice about running to get a 6pack, why and is runnning a great way to get a 6pack?
