How long after eatting before working out?
I like to work out first thing in the morning. I understand that I should eat something before I work out (carb with some protein). How long do I have to wait after I eat before I can work out? Do I have to wait a full hour?
Mom used to say that we could not swim for 30 minutes after lunch or we would get cramps. I don't know if that is true, but I've always abided by it and I find it works fine for me.
But note: no alcohol.
I once had "just one glass" of wine an hour before Friday afternoon run and I lasted just a 1/4 of a mile.

I think it also depends on the foods youre eating. I work out at 5am and don't have a lot of time to sit around waiting for food to digest. I've found that if I stick to fruits and protein powder with water I don't have to wait long at all before working out. Bananas seem to work especially well for me.
