How long would it take me?

Post by Tayyab786 »

How long would it take me to get decent abs if I can't lift heavy weight

To work the shoulders I can only do 5kgx15 (2 reps)
For the Lower Abs I can do 35kgx20 (2 reps)
For the Thighs I can do 10kgx15 (2 reps)
For the lower part of the leg I can do 5kgx15(2 reps)
For the chest I can do 5kgx15 (2 reps)
For the lower back and Shoulders I can do 20kg (2 reps)
For the lower abs I can do 20 crunches (2 reps)
For the Side of stomach I can do 20 crunches (2 reps)
For free weight dumbells I can do 5kgx15 (2 reps)

Also how long do you suggest i stay in the gym for daily (6 days a week).
I am really desperate for the abs I would like to know approximately how long it would take me to do this.

Also if someone could write me a basic diet, When I eat eggs and a tin of tuna i start getting nose bleeds, So i was wondering what would be best for me.

Thank you.

3 days a week is plenty if you do the tried and tested full body workouts, great for begginers, and pros alike.

if your serious about lifting get all your other lifts in proportion before aiming for abs...they come in at the end of the scale, ive been working out seriously for 6 months now and still nowhere near ready to start concentrating on abs.

hey, i want abs too... trust me, these guys are right, i tried just working abs for a bit until i noticed no difference then i asked these guys and they told me the same thing... it really does work... squats is favourite, and your like the same size as me... and squating 155lbs (not sure what its in in kg.) it works just as good for your abs as it does your legs and butt :P

155lbs is 70kg's. Do you really squat 155lbs?

Not trying to be rude, just thought it might possibly be a typing mistake.

Is that Smith Machine counter balanced? Becasue if it is, you'd have to drop about 25-30kg, or 55-66lbs off those Squat totals, as that basically means the Bar theoretically weighs nothing, owing to the counterbalancing.

Back to the orginal abs question...

Unfortionately you can't "spot reduce" or intentionally train one body part in an effort to develop that part. Why can't you lift heavy?.. Just want to make sure you don't have any health issues going on. When it comes to abs the two biggest factors are diet and weight training. When done correctly, a diet and weight program will lower you body fat enough that your abs can be seen. If you can't lift heavy for health reasons I would lift as much as I could while being extra careful with diet.

If you dedicate the time and energy you will eventually get those abs youre looking for. As for how long that will take... I really can't even come close to giving you an accurate estimate on that. There are so many factors that come in to play there that it is impossible to estimate without knowing more about you.

Hope this helps! Keep up the hard work and your goals will pay off!
