Anabolics Steroids ...

Post by Heelus »

I am almost surprise no one talks about them here ...

I am 18 Years old going on 19 soon, I'm a beginner (less than a year of training). I do NOT have the intention of taking steroids now ... But eventually I would like to have some serious information about them. People talking and knowing about them don't share with those looking for answer like me. I would like to know if some of you have knowledge about it and where did they learn from ? Another thing, how athletes in country where anabolics steroids are illegal can make sure the stuff they are putting in their veins is really what is meant to be ? Do they cost a lot of money ?

Well thanks anyone for sharing a bit.

Steroids are potent compounds, that can have serious ramifications to the user.

Such problems could include.

1. Testicle Shrinkage.

2. Baldness.

3. Gynocomastia, (Man Boobs).

4. Hormone alterations.

5. Liver Damage.

6. Greasy skin, and pimples, especially on the Back.

7. Diseases, if you use an unsterilised or old needle.

8. Roid Rage, though largely a myth, is reported to be a kind of change in some, but it's not something you should seriously link to Steroids.

9. Death.

Steroids are made or sold in places like Greece, Mexico, China, India and other places.

In America it is illegal to own, buy or sell.

In Britain it's illegal to buy or sell but legal to own.

Most Steroids come in things like injectable liquid forms and tab forms.

Steroids are prescription drugs, sometimes given by Doctors for things like Burns, pain problems, etc etc.

Due to the Liver Damage they can cause, they should be accompanied by something like Milk Thistle to protect the Liver.

They are not reccomended for under 21's, because of the effects on the Liver.

Some say they are addictive, but not physically more mentally.

Many people who take Steroids, train very hard, and eat at least 4,000+ calories a day, can lose anywhere from 35%-50% of what they gain. People who don't train hard enough or eat enough could gain nothing, much, or make good gains, but lose the lot.

You should ALWAYS cycle off them, to rest the Liver and the Liver, to make sure you minimise side effects, even from safe use.

Most people don't need ot take steroids if they're under 200lbs. Many can get as much as 220lbs+ before possibly needing them, though some take them around the 200, 210lb mark, with about 18" Arms.

Steroids allow you to shred whilst maintaining mass, and do more volume. I.E. doing 18 set chest routines, instead of 10-12 sets.

As stated, Steroids can kill, especially if you use excessive doses, or possibly inject yourself with an air bubble.

Typical places to inject are places like the Thighs, Chest and Arm.

Some people use them with things like Test boosters and HGH.

You can also make your own from basic powder type ingredients, usually referred to as Homebrew, as Steroids are mostly Chemical in nature, not derivatives from Nature.

If you lift really big on these things, be aware that long term that you might get issues with things like Knees, Rotator Cuff muscles etc etc.

Unless you're really serious about these, and know your shizzle, they are
NOT for anyone. They are not quick fixes, or a cheat method to get mass, or something you should take willy nilly, and most people who get gains, will eventually lose them, when they get off the stuff for good.

I thought someone would notice that.

That's not me actually , that's the cover from Court Of The Crimson King, the first King Crimson LP in 1969.

There's a couple of tracks called In The Court of the Crimson King, and Epitaph, (March for Tomorrow, No Tomorrow), floating around on the net, that come from that album.

However that's a side issue :).

As for the discussion about Steroids, I neither condone nor condem. I used to be more condem, but now I'm in the middle, owing to certain thoughts about pro bodybuilding, which I've stated before on here, so feel no need to state again at this time.

I think steroids get a raw deal, and a ton of misinformation is out there.
If you would like to know more I suggest attending a show like the Mr Universe show in Las Vegas every Sept. and talk to one of the many many doctors that are there that know what they are talking about.

Things like HGH, Testosterone for example are not necessarily illegal to all.
They can and are prescibed by doctors everyday here in the uSA for a variety of reasons.

I think they should be legal and do not understand the media bias towards them at all.

Yes, but HGH and Test Boosters are not Steroids. Not to understanding,

Besides you can get things like those naturally anyway, they go under the names of Zinc, Vitamin E, Mono-unsaturate Fats and good sleep

You're right though these things are prescribed, but that allows proper regulation. I've read on one occasion of a 16 year old being sold D-bol, and a case in Britain years ago, of a 15 year old female being given Steroids in a Gym.

Anyone who has the abiliy ot sell these things, could do such stuff if they wanted, just to make money. Many people would sell them purely to those they knew were not at risk from medical problems, (I.E. healthy over 21's), unless they abused them somehow, or injected badly.

However the small minority could and do sell ot those they shouldn't, which could be dangerous, as that guy sellign D-bol to a 16 year old, almost certainly knew it could potentially harm the kid, but decided however he got his money was okay with him.

He probably didn't even tell the kid the risks at all, as this kid never went on the site where I read this, and admitted he'd been told risks.

For all the many careful users, and people who would sell only to reputable, and healthy adult users, there would be a small percentage who would abuse them, or sell them to minors, and cause themselves or a child, death or serious hospitalisation.

So perhaps regulation is the best way, to avoid such issues.

Did you read post ?

I am NOT planing on using them, I just wanted some infos since it seems to be a subject that no ones wants to talk about ...

and hey I have a 100% clean diet and I train heavy. I didn't give up anything. Just asking questions !

cocaine dosen't egal steroids ... Many peoples use them, many won't get anything from it but shit because they think it'S a shortcut. But like you Swanso, how long have you been training for ? Didn't you ever think about enhancing your performance and results by using these "drugs" ?

Again I never said I had the intention of using them.

Boss, thanks for the informations.

See that is an example of how the issue becomes clouded, There are just as many stories of Alcohol, or cigarette abuse, or prescribed pain or phsycotic meds that do way more damage than steroids.... so do people condemm asprin, or allergy medicine for it too?

point is steroids is looked at in a negative light in all cases due to the extreme situations that we hear about which are not the norm by any means. Steroids in the right situation are a good thing, and as far as abuse are really low impact on the scale of other widely accepted and abused drugs.

in opinion, its not so much the effects that steroids have on your health, its the "cheating" aspect of them. thats why id never use them, it would feel like id cheated way to a better body.

I agree on Alcohol or smoking abuse, and truthfully, if I had way Imperial and BAT would be closed down for good.

As for alcohol abuse it's not good, but the worst people are ones who sell to minors from shops or pubs / clubs. Same thing with Hunting / Fishing Knives, Fireworks, Tobacco etc etc. Some people will sell to anyone to make money.

If an A.A.S. dealer sells D-bol to a 16 year old, he's a louse who deserves to be locked up, because that kid could have done damage to himself, that possibly will end up being fatal in years to come, if he damaged his Liver, and then it fails to handle normal levels of demand, for years on end like it should.

You're right about steroids, in respect of their portrayal, because they are medically prescribed. However Steroids are vilified like anything else. Face it, accasionally hospitals get a good rep for perhaps using a new treatment method, but more often they only get on the news when mistakes, slack protocols, and sometimes deaths occur, making some people mistrust hospitals too much.

One bit of bad news even for organisations with good reps can harm, so you're right that Steroids get a bad rep, as who wants to promote their ability to help burns victims for example, when that happens quite a bit, not occasionally. The occasional death or serious hospital case from Steroids is bigger news, and the press will feed off it with avengance, sometimes even forgoing the positives, of legally prescribing and sensibly using.

I think that's what he was referring to.

As for the cheating thing, in most sports it is, however stance regarding things like bodybuilding shows where it happens, as I've expressed before on here is, if you have a line up of 12 people all using, you can call that a level playing field.

Especially now you have a few natural federations, then anyone who's natural, going up against potential users in a less regulated federation, does so willingly, knowing it might hinder their chances.

The only problem for people who take them in bodybuilding circles, is that some take too much, and they could end up in the future never making it past the age of 60, as Liver problems or possible Heart problems could kill them before then, because irreperable damage, or sudden and unexpected side effects take their toll.

In regards to most side effects, safe dosing won't threaten life, or shouldn't, unless there was some underlying or undetected Kidney or Heart issues, or other possible unknown physical issues, throwing up a life threatening scenario, but that would be the exception for safe use, rather than the rule.

The only common possibility I've ever considered likely with safe dosing, relates to Testicular Shrinkage, as that must to some extent affect Sperm production and any risk of infertility.

I am too comfortable with who I am. Still, I believe most of us wants to see their own limit. I mean it's not like becoming a monster ... and it's not because you use AAS that you'll look like Ronnie overnight even with 10 years of training under the belt.

I have seen legitimate "roid rage" in 17 year olds.
