Hi !
Here's problem. In the past 6 months, I have gained about 15 pounds. However, I do cardio 6 times a week and weight training 3 times a week, for a total of about 15 hours of quite intense physical activity per week. I eat about 1200 cals per day and I eat only when I am hungry. I used to do about 10 hours per week of physical activity. I do not understand why I gain weight. I SHOULD be maintaining or losing weight. About 3 years ago, I weighted 150 pounds. I went down to 120 pounds about a year and a half ago, and now I'm back at 135 pounds. Maybe body is trying to get back to where he were ?
I'm lost. Does anyone have any tricks ?
Unxeplainable weight gain

I 150% agree with the girls above! Not enough calories. You
have eat to lose weight keeping in mind to eat the right kinds of foods. And remember, it's not the number on the scale, it's how you look and how your clothes fit. You're in the process of replacing fat with muscle by incorporating a well balanced diet, cardio, and weightlifting program.

i agree
when u dont eat enough ur body will start to store ur next meal or intake whathave u, as fat its like a deffence mech. that ur body dose an it will actualy burn muscel first to save the fat. thats also why it is importnt to eat clean an lean. so even if it dose store fat it will at least be healthy fat an burn off much ezer an plus ur body needs it. also like she said seeing as how ur not getting enough cal. ur body might be storing it as fat an might even be burning muscle due to ur "over working out" an not supporting the nutrients an whatnot that ur body needs. also if ur eating or intaking a lot of slt in ur foods that will make u retain water as well so maybe keep an eye on that as well. an peronal opinoin its ok to eat when ur hungry but if that turns out to be every hour or hour an a half thats not good either, its a lil different for every one but try to keep it to every 2-3 hours. an also too muscle weighsa more then fat too so what do u mean by "gaining weight" n where. u might be gaining muscel but it might just be bulk an not defined. haha but thats just what i think
A little cloudy on that Dev I think.
The body would burn Muscle from low calories, because if you have low calories, it's a signal you're getting too few meals, or low Protein, Carb and Fat ratios.
So if you're getting about 5 hours between meals, around 2 of those will cause muscle burn, from no Protein, and Fat stripping from no Carbs. Both those things could happene rather than one over the other.
However that would happen if the person has meals with little to no Protein and / or Carbs.
Storing healthy Fats matters not. If Fat stores it stores. Body Fat is always body Fat. If you have excess calories in a meal, you will store the ones the body doesn't need, as Fat.
If you eat healthy Fat and any of the Fat is not used for energy, or some physical functions, then it would store, but it's still the same stuff by then, regardless of whether it's an EFA or Saturate source of Fat you ate.
There isn't really anything called healthy body Fat. There are obviously healthy levels of body Fat, but that's a different thing.
As for the individual she's eating too few calories, and there is a possibility she might have a Thyroid issue, which given what she said, shouldn't automatically be ruled out.
Though I'm not saying anyone has done that.
I'm not going to say it's a very likely thing, but I mention it just incase, as it may need to be considered at least, just as a precaution.
