How many exercises per body part??

Post by astro_guy »

I do full body workouts twice weekly, and focus on upper body one day and lower body the next. I was wondering for setting up a workout routine, how many exercises per body part should I do? I don't want to over work anything, and I definitely don't want to under work anything. Please give me a clue as to how many exercises per routine I should do to get some reults, and thanks!!

full body should be 3x a week, hitting all major muscle groups. you only need one exercise per muscle group. 6 exercises in one session with at least 4 of them being compound lifts-,squats,deads,bench press,cleans,pull/chinups,military press etc.

Here is what I currently do,

Monday - Full Body
Tuesday - Cardio
Wednesday - Full Body
Thursday - Cardio
Friday - Lower Body
Saturday - Upper Body

With your suggestion of 3 full body days would this seem fitting to do

Mon, Wed, Fri Full Body
Tues, Thurs, Sat, Cardio...?

Please respond and thanks for assistance.
