Stitiches
During a drunken rager this weekend, me and roomates destroyed the kitchen table and then brought the pieces outside to smash them on the walk. I got lucky enough to pick a peice with a huge screw hanging out of it and it put a 3 inch gash into the palm of left hand. It was actually pretty deep, white fat was coming out it was pretty sweet, but anyway here question. They said about 10 days until the stitches come out, but then there will be some healing time. I was completely hammered when they were telling me all this so I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with getting stitiches in their hand, or if anyone knows about how long it will be til its healed enough to lift weights. THanks guys.

Last time I had stitches which was many years ago - they said 6 to 8 weeks depending on healing. Just because it may look and feel fine in a shorter amount of time, it doesn't mean it's a 100%. You could stress it, and tear the muscle and skin causing infection and or scarring tissue to occur. This might be suck news but hey that generally happens when we do stupid things.
Yupp, definitely suck news but I suppose theres nothing else that can really be done. Being off of training for 6 weeks is going to BLOW, I don't know wtf I'm going to do everyday in replace of the gym. Im guessing 6 weeks is a generous amount of time, so maybe I can try some lighter stuff after 4 weeks or so, prob depends on the person too and I'm a pretty quick healer tho.
excellent suggestions, looks like I'm gonna be be limited to machine flys, legs machines, and I think I'll give the cable straps a shot and see if that works without feeling weird. I was giving it some thought last night though and I figure the longest this will be will be about 3 weeks, and I've really needed to crack down on legs anyway, so its kind of forcing me into doing that, maybe its a good thing.
