Weight LOss
Xenical helps to reduce and maintain your weight, as well as to minimize any weight regain. Xenical (orlistat) is a weight loss medication that inhibits the absorption of fat in your body rather than suppressing your appetite. Xenical is useful for long term use and has been shown to be effective for 1-2 years. Dietary fats are inhibited from being absorbed by using Xenical and this allows about 30% of the fat eaten in a meal to pass through the digestive tract undigested
Why r u bringing weight loss meds into this. The thread is about what is more efficient; walking or jogging.
Xenical is a prexcribed medication that btw is not that great anyway. On average patients i see lose around 10lbs over a full course but only if diet and exercise are incorporated too. Hence, those who change their lifestyles do the best and it makes me wonder if the drug really had that much of an impact. It is also only for those classed as morbidely obese!!!
This is from the manufacturers just to prove point
'In clinical studies, people treated with XENICAL and a reduced-calorie diet with no more than 30% of calories from fat achieved significantly greater weight loss than people who were treated with diet alone.
The studies were designed with all participants eating a reduced-calorie diet for 4 weeks, followed by the diet plus XENICAL or the diet alone for 52 weeks. After 52 weeks, those taking XENICAL plus diet lost an average of twice as much weight as those who used the diet alone (approximately 13.4 lbs versus 5.8 lbs). '
Anyway please do not come here and start advising possibly dangerous medication. Thank you kindly!!!
