sore, sore, SORE! and couldnt sleep.
Ok, I many havedone excessive chest exercises yesterday. I put some decent wieght on this time as I normally do a lot of reps and lower the weight since Im really not looking to bulk up and gain weight. I tried NOxplode for the first time about 30min before workout and also had a Pro-NOS protein drink about 30min after. I workout was around 6pm and at 1230, I couldnt get to sleep. last time I looked at the clock it was 415 and still tossing and turning. Has anyone tried these products and had a similiar problem? I also woke up unbelievably sore (which I know is not a bad thing) and was wondering if thats a side effect of the supplement or if its just from overexertion from the extra energy I had (which I definitely noticed).
is this a better question for the nutrition forum?

I have to say that the claims that they make were true though. Lots and lots of extra energy to get extra sets in and a noticable 'pump' too. I was directed toward it by quite a few friends that swear by it as well as a personal trainer. If it leads to not being able to sleep though, then I'll definitely be switching to something else.
Have you found any supplements that you can suggest?

I have to disagree. I took NO2 when it first came out and had great (and noticable) results with it and once I stopped they didnt disappear. There is plenty of scientific research on the supplement industry and plenty of double blind studies that show the differences in taking the supplement vs taking a placebo, which would negate the 'mental' aspect. I think there is quite a different attitude outside the US about supplements.
You could have gotten similar results probably from Arginine supps instead of NO2. Arginine promotes NO production, but does more besides, and providing you dont' have a Herpes Virus, you shouldn't get issues of Arginine.
NO-Explode is hype and a big pump, and it's got some Caffeine in it, which would partly act as an antagonist for the NO anyway, as it has a reverse effect on Bloodvessels.
Thye just put friggy Caffeine in things a lot these days, to have a thermogenic effetc apparently for Fat stripping, same as in energy drinks, it would probably be cheaper if things like No-explode had no Caffeine, and then slightly less NO, to account for the removed Antagonist, and keep any pumps in a more controlled range.
Considering what Caffeine can do to the body, putting in loads of Supps these days to me is a pile of crap, and I don't think I've seen any scientific evidence linking Caffiene directly to positive physical benefits. The things you find it in might do that, (depending on what it is, like Green Tea for example), but Caffeine as a standalone ingredient giving benefit, I doubt it.
Yeah a bit more energy from NO-explode of course, from the Phosphate conversion of the Creatine, but reality is the massive Pump is a "feeling", and big huge pumps don't necessarily equate to massive potential mass gains. It's just largely a misnomer I think, (some kind of pump might help of course), possibly created by guys of the past, who got big and got pumped, and made an almost certainly unproven connection back in yesteryear.
THe golden rule I think with NO products is, if you think of taking them, remember NO means NO, and as for NO2, well clearly that goes double
.
P.S. No-explode should be renamed WTF??

I can see your point. I was under the impression that NO2 was basically Arginine at about 3000mg along with other things that supposedly help the uptake. Would you suggest just plain Arginine by itself? I follow the line of thought about the caffiene doing the exact opposite (constricting the blood vessels) that the Arginine does. I read somewhere that they found a 10-1 ratio that worked well without constricting the blood vessels but 300mg of caffeine doesnt seem all that safe to start with, considering the usual dose of arginine is 3000mg.
No idea on the supplements. but i wanted to ask you if you can point me in the right direction to pick up kickboxing. i'm a stones throw away from chicago so if you know of any good places to begin training it'be great. I try to google local kickboxing classes but i seem to only run into cardio kickboxing. i would like to learn the sport thoroughly along with gaining its cardio benefits. thanks
Im sorry but I love NO xplode. It may have caffine in it but in small doses caffine is not bad. Im not on it now but it was key for me in the gym. If you feel it works use it. Just the NO after the workout may not have been the best idea. By the way NO xplode did win like 2 awards for muscle building supplement of the year. So saying theres no science behind it shows no research behind your accusation. Im not tryin to be an .
With respect Caffeine has been proven to have links to Stomach Ulcers and Heartburn, and can to some extent constrict bloodvessels, and be converted to Uric Acid, which could conribute to Gout.
I've drunk Diet Coke before, but wouldn't go for more than 1-2 cans a day max, and not every day either.
Also I didn't say there is no science behind No-explode, I said I have never seen any.
I've heard people saying to me personally it did nothing for them, so take that how you want to
.
If you wanted to get the same results, you could have had Kre-alkalyn, and gotten similar results without the NO.

Without a doubt its propoganda, and no Im not sure who sponsored the awards or how it was chosen. Im just saying i think it works and i love it. But I will have to check out that kre-alkalyn. Im not one to get really deep into supplements so i dont know much about it. Dude if you have stomach ulcers i think the little amount of caffeine in No xplode is the last of your worries, you need to make some major life changes haha.
