Hi! I'm new to this forum and the very first day I visited this forum I found it very interesting.
I'm 30 years old and have been doing weight training for the last one year .I've gained a considerable amount of muscle in frame in this one year, not too much but I'm satisfied with gains. But recently one of gym-mates told me since I've reached the age of 30 I can't gain any further muscle and I should stop training. query is, is it true that a man of 30 or more can't gain any muscle despite he's training sincerely with weights ?I'm really confused please help to remove confusion.
That is rediculous. And irritating! You can build muscle very well. Here's an example: I have a 52 year old client who I have bee trianing for 3 years. He has a skinny build, but even with a skinny build and his age he manages to pack on another 5 pounds or so of muscle each year.
You can keep working out and building muscle. It's good for you!
Your mate clearly doesn't know what he's talking about.
For you to not gain any more muscle, your Metabolism would have to practically slow down to a grinding halt, I would think, or your Testosterone levels would have to plummit.
