figure competitions vs stretch marks

Post by aleia »

Okay. I'd like to enter first figure competition, but I have some questions for any of you who have been there before.
I have OUTRAGEOUS stretch marks from having twins. They are primarily on stomach and hips, but flow through upper thighs too. Is this okay, or will I just embaress myself onstage? Does anyone have any tricks to get rid of, reduce, or hide these unsightly scars?
Also, any general competition advice?
Thanks!

You can buy products like Bio Oil, which have ingredients in them that fight Scars and stretch marks.

You could try Cocoa Butter, and try increasing Vitamin E. As Vitamin C helps produce Collagen for Skin, Bones and Teeth, you could try that. I'd go for intially 500mg morning and night, and if you do get any slight issues with C, try buffered. You could then increase to 1g morning and night, that's if you decide to go with C.

If ou want competitive tips, try, (if you want to, but you don't have to), checking site. I wrote something for someone on this very matter, from own readings and observations, which you might find useful.

As for the stretch marks in comps, don't worry. A good product like Pro Tan, evenly applied, should pretty much maks this sort of thing anyway, as it has for others too. Stratch Marks are not a danger to a competitors scores, unless the tanning process where they are goes wrong, and looks blotchy or patchy perhaps.

Hey Boss! Thanks for all of the positive feedback - didn't know that mine was such a common problem.
Checked out your site (I'm Kiwi over there), but couldn't find the post you were referring to.
Thanks

The account you made has been activated, and the post is in the Competing section, third post of four.

Feel free to discuss anything further there or here, it's entirely your choice.

Aleia,

Boss Man is giving you great advice with the cocoa butter and Vitamin E. Also he is right on the mark when it comes to tanning. I used Jan Tana product to compete and once you get that stuff on you, and applied properly, you won't be able to tell. The lights and tan hide a lot. Good luck to you and your endeavor!

Thanks for the tanning tip, Boopster; I've been wondering about that! Hey, do you still compete?

I used coco butter all through pregnancy and low and behold - not 1 stretch mark. I did exercise and eat well all the way through too but i swear by the stuff.

Im sure it works to fade those buggers away too. :)

Yea, I used cocoa butter, vitamin E, sesame oil, and olive oil religiously throughout pregnancy and afterwards, and for the first 40 pounds I was good. The next 20, however, really did me in. I'm sure they helped both with prevention and fading (in fact, every month they look better even now), but I'm sure you've seen those Freddy Cruegar tummies... that's me! I am trying the vitamin C that Boss Man suggested; I'll let everyone know if it works just in case any of you have twins too!

Hopefully the C will work, but C is also good for Boosting Iron, and increasing Immune System, so other benefits can be had too.
