Strength / Weight training with shoulder calcification
Hi, I currently have shoulder calcification in left shoulder and find training chest very painful and frustrating. Training all other muscle groups I don't have a problem, even training shoulders is OK. Does anyone know of any treatments or have any advise that would enable me to train chest with a little less pain in shoulder. Thanks.

Hi
This web site explains what shoulder calcification is.

Lateral movement is what I'm having most problems with.

i'd read "shoulder savers" by eric cressey then email him about what to do
link didnlt tell me what it actually is but i'd suggest searching and doing the following:
soft tissue work for the rear dlet/upper back area with a tennis ball...type cresseyperformance foam rolling in youtube and a video should comne up with some of that in it
also maybe try the sleeper stretch (again pop in youtube) and see if that helps

Have you been x-rayed for this? dad had bursitis and it caused similar pain. It is treatable with injections of anti-inflamatories directly into the joint. Relief occurs very quickly.paulmac272 wrote:Hi, I currently have shoulder calcification in left shoulder and find training chest very painful and frustrating.
