For best results I've found 3-4 days of week for weights and 2 days of HIIT work well.... If you're only doing 3 days of weights you could also do weights every other day, HIIT on the days that you're not doing weights and throw in another day of long slower cardio on a day when you haven't done HIIT or weights.

I'm going to go with 3 - 5 days per week; 30 minutes per day.

You should do a bit of math to see what target heart rate you should try to attain.

The Texas State University site gives pretty clear instructions for determining that target rate: http://www.healthcenter.txstate./hea ... cardio.htm

The University of Maryland also give instructions; both suggest 3 - 5 times per week for frequency and that is the nubmer I've always heard.
