Can i go down from 194 lbs to 154 lbs in 6 months ?

Post by Anu2009 »

Hello frenz..

I want to try for a baby after 6 months. doctor suggested me to reduce weight. So i wish to reduce weight for being healthy.
I understand that abrupt reduction of weight is unhealthy.

Please let me know which is the best approach.

You could but it may be too much to aim for. Could you aim for 20-30lbs. The normal weight to lose safely is 1-2 lbs a week. If you lost an average of 1 a week you are looking at 26-30lbs but if you could lose 2lb a week whick would meet your goal.

What i am saying is dont get too hung up on numbers as it is a lifestyle change you are looking for not a quick so it needs to be done properly and steadily.

What a fantastic reason to lose weight. Every luck in the world to you sweetie. Any more advice please ask. Try posting what you eat and times and when you workout and what you do and you will get more help on here. :D

Diet and exercise go hand in hand when it comes to weight loss. And by diet I mean not buying it in a bottle and by exercise not purchasing some fancy machine. Eat clean, exercise regularly and you will see results.

Hi there,

I think your goal is probably attainable if you really try hard.... 40 pounds is 6 months is only 6 1/2 pounds month or 1 1/2 pounds a week.

Although, as Clare said, you really should focus more on making healthy lifestyle changes than on losing a specific number of pounds. I would suggest focusing more on things like a healthy diet, regular exercise (both weights and cardio), getting plenty of sleep, and drinking lots of water... if you do these things the rest will come. Plus, by adopting these lifestyle changes you are more likely to remain healthy and active in the years to come, as apposed to latching on to a quick- diet that will only set you up for failure down the road.

Just thoughts.... I hope this helps,

Cassie :)

You look like a pregnant women, sorry ha i am just joking!
How are you, i am fine hope so you are also fine.
Yours problem is big but not impossible so first time i give some simple trips for beginner Wight loss program-------

Here are Seven steps that will help you with any weight loss goal. (I found they helped me)

Step 1: Make a commitment to weight loss at the very beginning. Don?t go half-hearted, here. If you do, you will come up short. Treat this like a job. Make it a priority.

Step 2: Prove your commitment by creating a weight loss journal. Write down your diet and exercise goals and review them daily. Make a list in your journal of all the things you will hold yourself to. Everyday turn a page and re-write the same thing. Cross things off as you accomplish them.

Step 3: Begin walking 20-30 minutes in the morning, afternoon, or evening. The best time is the time you can fit it in. Be consistent. Same time every day, if possible.

Step 4:Add water. Increase your daily water consumption to 10-12 cups. More water means less bloating and better internal organ function. A side note: decrease the sugary sodas. Increasing your water can help you lose 5 pounds the very first week.

Step 5: Eat four meals a day. The first meal coming within 40 minutes of waking. The last meal coming 2 hours or more before bedtime. You never want to eat right before bed. Do this and you will feel your waistline loosen very quickly.

Step 6: Understand the difference between weight loss success and weight loss failure is smaller than you realize. You only need to make small adjustments to reap huge results. Don?t go out and try to change the world. If you do, you may just wind up burnt out and with even more anxiety.

Step 7: Take a long-term perspective. The best way to lose 20 pounds is to begin where you are with these 7 steps, but to realize this isn?t just a commitment for now. If you want to keep the weight off, then repeat these steps time and time again.

Weight loss is a simple task. The principles are very basic. The results, however, will always be based on the individual. Begin strong and begin prepared, and you?ve already won half the weight loss battle.

In answer to your question. Yes. It is probable and likely that you can lose that amount of weight (or close to it) within 6 months. In fact, you brought to mind an article that I wrote.

I used to weigh 300 pounds. Now, I am weighing in around 195-198, depending on the day. Hope the piece (link) below also helps you with your weight loss goals. :-)

Let me know a report in 6 mths. Thanks!!! :D
