I was wondering if anyone knew of any credible websites that could tell me something about too much cardio being bad for a person. And i mean too much as in daily, or what people usually consider to be healthy before researching.
well it depends what you mean by bad by here's something:

It really depends on what you want to achieve. I've been told many times over the years that 20 minutes of elevated pulse rate 3 times a week is sufficient to achieve cardiovascular fitness.
But if you are Lance Armstrong that falls well short of your needs.
Also, you get a "runners high" after about 15 minutes and so many people like to go a good bit further.
And cardiovascular training will burn more calories per hour than most other training so it is useful for weight loss.
But for an overall balanced workout you need to have (about) 1/3 your time in CV and 2/3 your time in weight lifting (working all your body parts). Those percentages are approximate but a good jumping off point.

I'm missing something here. Heavy weight lifting burns about 1/2 the calories per hour as cycling or running.swanso5 wrote:true but i hate that comment...fat is burnt through metabolism/wt training...9 x more in factAnd cardiovascular training will burn more calories per hour than most other training so it is useful for weight loss.

Where does the "9 x" come in to play?
