Seeing whitespots

Post by redjake »

Last couple of sessions I've seen white spots midway through workout. Is this common?

I'm in the middle of a workout now and I'm starting to get them again.

mother use to see blue sparks when she use to lift weights. She said that was a sign that she was over exerting herself. Do you think you may be over doing it?

Bad breathing,
HEAVY SHIT deads and squat,
dehydration,
too much heat,
sickness
weakness from lack of energy

can cause it.

I noticed on exhales I was pursing lips like I was trying to blow up a balloon. I consciencely stopped and it seemed to help.

I think I'm sufficiently hydrated and I don't feel like I'm overdoing the weight, so maybe breathing just sucks.

strain through the core, glutes and thighs, not clench your neck and face up...hard to explain but easy to do

All right. I got that from martial arts training too. But how does that have any effect on the spots he sees?

What causes the spots?

he might be cutting off blood supply to the brain, same as getting up to quickly...ecpwecially if it's from closed chain exercises wehere the body moves through the air (squats, chin ups etc)

Blood pressure's okay.

I understood this immediately. I think this is exactly what I'm doing - along with the balloon-blowing exhales.

Again, I consciously avoided the neck/cranial pressure tonight and managed to make it through without getting the whitespots.

Thanks, y'all.
