Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could help me out here. I am a man with a lot of free time and a lot of goals to achieve. I have the muscle, but I am having trouble getting the definition. Due to free time I run 30 minutes before each workout. Each workout (weightlifting) session is about an hour long. Would you say I'm over doing it if I run 30 minutes prior to weightlifting sessions? Does this jeopardize workout routine or hinder results? And what would you suggest I do to lose some body fat (besides dieting).. Your help and advice means a lot to me.

You could be using up Glycogen making your workouts harder to perform.

You could try something like this.

Day 1. Weights

Day 2 Cardio

Day 3 Weights

Day 4 Day off

Day 5 Cardio

Day 6 Weights

Day 7 Day Off

You do the weights 3 times a week, keep the Cardio seperate, and split the off days enough, that you're not doing two days off back to back, which can eat into progress, being sedentary for two days.

I'd say you could try total body stuff on the weights, and see how you fair.

I like to sip a protein drink during workouts by taking small sips between sets. If I drink too fast and then workout I feel nauseous, but the small sips work just fine.

I workout after work and before dinner. If I don't have the drink during the workout I run out of energy part way through. (I also drink coffee between sets--I may not be the best roll model.)
